Yes, Xfinity has suddenly made it impossible to pay online unless you download their app, which I refuse to do. They made it very difficult to pay by phone as well, I had to give another reason in order to speak to a live person.  Ridiculous.

Wireless 5G well below, wired and service speed

I have a 1gbps service speed, my wired connection gets ~800mbps, which seems fine, but my wireless connection (the 5G not 2.4) gets ~200mbps. There are no other devices running and downloading data when I do the speed tests. Any ideas?

Question

Aged_Flyer, It is our pleasure to assist. In addition to the app, here is a great weblink to another XFINITY speed test that shows both the upload and download speeds. Please let me know if this helps.

Xfinity App no longer displays upload speed

Just as Xfinity notified me that -- due to a network upgrade in my service area, my upload speed should be 5x to 10x faster than before the upgrade -- I have discovered that the Xfinity app no longer displays measured upload speed in the gateway test results! What on earth informed Xfinity's decisio

Xfinity not updating gateway firmware

Hello i am using my own top of the line modem gateway (Arris G36). It is currently running this firmware AR01.04.028.01.01_040121_724.NCS.20.X2 which according to Arris has a bug where modem will intermittently loose connection. According to Arris, xfinity pushed a firmware update in Nov 2023 with t

The work is supposed to begin tomorrow, but the notice said the infrastructure changes would ultimately allow symmetric high upload and download speeds without saying when. TBH, even going to 200 Mbps uploads would be a significant improvement, so I

Eligible for faster upload speed?

I'm on the 1200 Mbps plan. Although I rarely achieve that rate - it's usually around 940 Mbps - I'm OK with that for downloads. But uploads are usually only in the 35-40 Mbps range, which is too slow for much of the work I do. Ideally, I'd like symmetrical 1 Gbps or something close, but even 200 Mbp

It's not a complete solution, but Xfinity should give us Peacock Premium for free until they get this resolved. That way we can watch the Bravo shows, although with commercials, and can download them as we ought to be able to do on the Xfinity Stream

XB7 vs XB6 initial performance disappointment

My wired download speed on the XB6 was over 1100 Mbps. The wired speed on the new XB7 caps out at 950 Mbps. Is this modem relatively deficient, or has the overhead cushion on my gigabit service been eliminated? The wireless speeds are also not as robust throughout the house as the service I enjoyed

Question

@XfinityKrista All things being equal, they'll still need a compatible modem to be able to get 100 up. Period... An incompatible modem will also default to using a slower-speed bootfile for the download as well....

My 300mbps internet appears to be throttled to 100mbps

First of - I am paying for the 300/100mbps "connect more" plan. I noticed that I was only getting around 100-110mbps, even when directly connected to the cable modem (no router or switch). I bought a new Arris SB8200 cable modem, as the one I had was not on the supported list (anymore). Speeds still
