New equipment to use Apple TV?

I went to download the Apple TV app and I received a message that told me I needed to upgrade my equipment. It said they would send me new equipment and I would have to send back my old equipment in 30 days. Is this for real?

Hello @frustrated991 Thanks for checking in on an answer for the message that is being reported. It's possible that the device is outdated and needs to be exchanged for a newer device that will support apple TV. If you are receiving the same message you may also have the option to request a swap or upgrade from that screen. If not you can visit a Xfinity store or send us a direct message, and we can ship you a new cable box with a return label to send back your current device.

@user_f30d1e When you send a direct message please make sure that you are entering "Xfinity Support" in the TO line and Xfinity support will appear from the drop down list. One of our team members that are available will receive your message and we will make sure that your devices can support apple TV.  

To send a direct message, please click on the chat icon in the top-right corner of the screen, and select "Xfinity Support" to initiate a live chat. 
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "direct messaging" icon or https://comca.st/3J0ir1l
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it

I tried to respond to XfintyJorge and his name didn't show up even after I copied and pasted, so I'm still in limbo about what to do. Guess I'll drive to the nearest Xfinfity store and ask in person.
