TVAPP-00148

I just encountered error code TVAPP-00148 on the Xfinity Stream app on my Samsung TV. Worked fine for prior 6 months. App streams fine on other devices and tvs. Tried turning off/on tv and deleting/installing app on Samsung tv.

Same problem as everyone else with my samsung tv that worked fine until 1/17/24. Nothing that i tried has worked. Reset router, turned tv off/on 3x, deleted and reinstalled app twice. And samsung escalated but don’t call back

If you try accessing the app with any other device, do you get a similar error message? Is your Samsung TV up to date with the latest software update? These are the supported operating systems and device models for Samsung TV:

  • 2023 Samsung TVs
  • 2022 Samsung TVs
  • 2021 Samsung TVs
  • 2020 Samsung TVs (no minimum software version)
    • All QLED and UHD Models
  • 2019 Samsung TVs (no minimum software version)

When selecting channel to watch get error TVAPP-00148.  Have tried reinstalling app nothing works. All other apps on tv work

I have the same problem with my Samsung smart TV.  For me, this issue (app giving me TVAPP-00148 error when trying to view Live Channels) started this past Tuesday (01/16/2024).  After talking with Xfinity Customer Service, I was given Maintenance Ticket No. SI064679648 and was told that they are trying to correct this issue.  This has been an on-going open issue.  And, they stated that this issue applies only to Samsung TVs.  If I were a Comcast customer and had this issue, I would call Comcast and request a discount or refund on paid services.

Come on. This error has been an ongoing issue for you since 2022. Patches all day long. We just want the fix? Yes, AirPlay is an option to your problem, but really.

Xfinity updated the app 2 nights ago on my Samsung tv and I haven’t been able to watch any live channels. This needs to be fixed rfn.

I’ve checked cables, deleted and reinstalled app and a systems reset.  I still receive the message.  TVAPP-00148.

My Xfinity Streaming app is not working since 2 days ago in one Samsung TV. I get TVAPP-00148 error. I have tried everything from deleting and downloading the app to shutting down and starting the TV pressing the start button. Xfinity is a disaster! The app was terrible to begin with, super slow to load and unstable. I think they provide bad quality service to force you to pay for the box.

To find this info on a Samsung TV:

Make sure your Samsung Smart TV is connected to the Internet.
Press the Smart Hub button on your Smart Control remote to go to the Samsung Home screen.
Scroll to and select the Settings icon (gear to the right).
Arrow down to Support.
Arrow right, then down, then select About this TV.
From here, you'll see the Model Code, Serial Number, Software Version, etc.

2021 Date of Manufacture Samsung TV all of a sudden getting the TVAPP-00148 error and will not stream.  Called Samsung tech support, they helped me reset my TV to factory defaults and the streaming app still gives the 00148 error.  Uninstalled and reinstalled the Xfinity app but nothing helps.  It had worked fine for over a year until this evening.

Seems to be affecting many customers. TVAPP-000148 on 1 of 3 tvs in the house. All tvs are newer Samsung smart tvs. All tvs connected via wi-fi, using streaming app. Issue started yesterday, 011724. Uninstalled/reinstalled app, reset modem, cleared tv cache, off/on...but nothing works. All other streaming apps work fine. What is the solution to the issue?

Same thing here in Montgomery, TX. It started on 01/16/2024 at our house all TVS are Samsung Qled Tizen 2022 and 2023. We do not have any cable boxes and rely of the Xfinity Stream App.

Only the Xfinity Stream App, Live Streaming does not connect responding with Error Code: TVAPP-00148.

Have cleared cache on all, have uninstalled and re-installed on all, have reset modem & routers, have rest all TVS. I have retried all of these steps multiple times.

Yesterday on chat, I was told that it was a known issue and would be up and running in 3hrs. Well, that was yesterday and now it is today and still the same problem.

Called today - phone rep. created an escalated ticket. Now I wait for 24-48hrs.

All of a sudden one of my Samsung TV keeps getting error message when I try to watch TV.

ive done everything from delete cache, delete and reload the app, hold off button till it restarts, and still get same error code.

For the last two days I have not been able to view Live TV. Above error shows up. have spent more than 3hrs with tech support. I have reset Samsung TV, reset modem, deleted and reinstalled Stream app several times. Yesterday message stated that I will be contacted in 1-2 hrs. It did not happen. Today I was told that kit will take another 48-72hrs. Stream app worked fine for two yrs, though occasionally had to exit app and open it to make it work.I am hoping it will be fixed.

I am unable to use xfinity stream on one of three tvs in my household. Of course, it’s the tv I primarily watch. When I attempt to watch a live channel, I get an error message: TVAPP-00148. 

Xfinity stream is working on all other devices and has been working on this tv for about 3 years. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted, and cleared data/cache/cookies. What is the error and how do I resolve it?

I've been having the same problem since yesterday. I have a Samsung Smart TV with a Roku device. Someone else in another thread commented that you can add Xfinity Stream to your Roku device as a workaround, if you have one.

Has xfinity made a statement about what is happening? Especially since they have increased the costs of the service, but the TV App remains ridiculously antiquated. Has there been any information about a fix for the issue?

Everytime there is an update [Edited: "Language"].  I have this happen all the time.    They run you through the hoops.   Then it just starts working.  The same fix never works.   I get it to work then bam!  Stops again.   I have been fine for several months now new update on the jan 10 2024.  I am now having issues.

I've been having problems too since yesterday and I couldn't watch live TV on the Xfinity Stream app. Someone else commented on another thread if you have a Roku, you can workaround this by downloading the app to your Roku. I did, and can watch live TV again.

I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Xfinity stream app on my Samsung TV numerous times, but I keep running into error code TVAPP-00148

I did do a brief search here and noticed that some have had success with holding down their power button until their Samsung logo reappears, but this does not resolve my issue.

I had the same issue yesterday; I tried restarting my Samsung TV several times and then contacted Xfinity support. Support told me they'd received other messages from consumers and it was a nationwide problem. I haven't turned on the Xfinity Stream app on my Samsung today to see if it's been resolved.

I can stream to my laptop but not the Samsung TV today, same error code TVAPP-00148.  Must have to do with compatibility of Samsung after an update to the App, frustrating!
