ERROR: TVAPP-00148

I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Xfinity stream app on my Samsung TV numerous times, but I keep running into error code TVAPP-00148

I did do a brief search here and noticed that some have had success with holding down their power button until their Samsung logo reappears, but this does not resolve my issue.

Yes same issue here it’s only on Samsung TVs

I had the same issue yesterday; I tried restarting my Samsung TV several times and then contacted Xfinity support. Support told me they'd received other messages from consumers and it was a nationwide problem. I haven't turned on the Xfinity Stream app on my Samsung today to see if it's been resolved.

I can stream to my laptop but not the Samsung TV today, same error code TVAPP-00148.  Must have to do with compatibility of Samsung after an update to the App, frustrating!

Someone in another thread commented a workaround if you also have a Roku. After uninstalling and reinstalling on my Samsung TV, I decided to try using my Roku, downloaded Xfinity Stream and it works - I can watch live TV!

Works on Fire Stick also but I have a smart tv for a reason.  I want to run app on tv!

Comcast/xfinity quality control and or testing is inadequate.  Why this is identified by end users of one of the top 5 TV brands… Unbelievable!

Same error here!  I have 3 Samsung TV's, only having this problem on 1 of them.  Spent 2 hours on the phone with tech support, 3 different people, and still no resolution.  So frustrated!

@user_rsfioj yes it’s the newer models , this is insane for the money we spend each month , I do not want to buy the Fire Stick that’s why I bought newer TVs

We tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Xfinity stream app on our Samsung Smart TV numerous times, but we also keep running into error code TVAPP-00148.  I contacted Xfinity technical support twice last night by phone and chat, but they were not able to resolve the issue.  According to Dhaniyesh on chat support, "the signals are complete and an automated check has identified that currently there is a maintenance going on the application we are upgrading the service to better services to the customer.  Due to which you might be facing this issue.  Our engineers has given the time resolution that upgradation work will be resolved within 1 hour.  I request to wait for sometime and the services will active shortly."  It's almost 24 hours and services are still not active.  They credited my account with $10 for the inconvenience.

I spent also spent 2 hours with technical support last night.  It's so frustrating.  Has anyone from Comcast gotten back to you?  I'm sorry you're having this TVAPP-00148 problem, but at least I now know it's not a problem with my TV.  Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube and every other streaming app on earth except for Xfinity works on my Samsung TV.

When I contacted support last night, they told me it was a nationwide problem with Samsung TVs and the Xfinity Stream app. Someone in another thread posted a workaround with Roku if you have it. I downloaded the app to my Roku and can now watch live TV.

Seriously frustrated with xfinity.  Did everything that everyone else has,  multiple techs on phone who Obviously did not know what they were doing.  Finally talked to a level 3 or 4 to get the” its a national issue”. Well great.  Still not working🤬

If it's a national issue why should we have to go through 3-4 techs and spend hours on the phone/chat to get that information?!?  That's should be level 1.  Should be "yes we know there's an issue and we are working on it.  We will let you know when it's fixed and credit your account".  That's it.  Everyone can understand an issue, what we can't understand is not admitting you have an issue and wasting our time.  😡

What is the issue? I have been without service for 4 days. I have called and tried troubleshooting the issue several times. I have been told they are aware of the issue and would offer a resolution and refund but haven't seen either. This is unacceptable and terrible customer service. The people on the live chat and folks on the phone are completely unhelpful.

@user_7k3fc2 Thank you so much for letting us know you are also running into the TV app error. It is a known issue as for the cause our engineering team is working to locate that and develop a resolution as quickly as possible. We do apologize for the inconvenience, this error is only impacting the Xfinity stream app, however, and you can always stop into any Xfinity service center for one of our X1 boxes to help in the meantime.

Hello @user_yirnae, thank you for reaching out to our forum for help with Stream app issues, and for providing such great detail to get us on the same page. I would like to ask a few clarifying questions to make sure we're working on a full resolution for the issue. Are you able to test any other devices to see if you can replicate that error code? Also, are you seeing that error code as soon as you open the app?

I am getting the same error on multiple TV's.  I can recreate the problem any time you want

This problem is odd because my

Samsung TV #1 - all apps work including Xfinity.
Samsung TV #2 - All apps work EXCEPT XFINITY.   Xfinity app has been working for a year and half previously. The app will appear, and the listings, but tv shows won’t load.

Both TVs are under 2 yrs old.
I’ve unplugged the TV and plugged back in. I ran the Hub connection test, uninstalled and reinstalled the Xfinity app., ran smart Hub again, and reset smart Hub.
Several times. And still nothing app

Exact same issue with my 2 tvs! So frustrating! Missing nfl football game one of the main reasons I have xfinity in the first place!!!

Imagine if this happened to Netflix or MAX? They would fix this in hours not days or weeks.

Hey everyone, having the same issue for the past 4 days but as I navigated to this message board I came upon the same exact issue with Err 00148 on Samsung televisions on this same exact board from November of 2020!

The Comcast responses were almost identical to those on this latest thread.

Odds are, any fix will most likely be temporary.
