Being charged for a modem I have never had

I have no Comcast/Xfinity modem; I have always had my own, for the 25 years I've lived here. But my bill shows a $12 charge. How do I get rid of this charge? Why did it ever appear? Again, I have never had a modem from Xfinity / Comcast!

Contacted Xfinity for a credit due to daily outages I was told I was going to get once it was resolved. Tried to call, that was a joke, couldn't get a live person. Tried the chat. Was promised not only a credit but to lower my bill. What ended up happening was he deleted the wrong box. Chatted back
