Today I received a phone call from [Edit: "possible malicious number"] with a recording in a woman's voice saying " Hello, this voicemail is from Comcast Xfinity. Due to missed confirmation, the 50%discount on your monthly bill is no longer in effect. Please call us back on the number showing on your caller ID to reactivate this offer. Thank you." I had an intensely bad gut feeling and used a different phone to call back. The voice message sounded exactly like an Xfinity recording. The agent, with an Indian/Pakistani accent, came on line. He was able to look up my account information after I provided my name and address. He said Target is the new sponsor and is offering a special rate reduction if I pay 6 months of $100 in advance then for 3 years I would have only to pay $100/mo. The other option he offered was a $5 reduction/ month but he said I had to sign up with a 6 year contract. I felt like this was a scam. I told him that. He told me to wait and he would connect me to the business department who will handle my payment. I googled this to see if it was legit while I was holding. When I saw it was a scamI hung up. I then called [Edit: "possible malicious number"] and once again I received a voice message sounding exactly like Xfinity. What is going on here? Am I correct with regard to it being a scam? If so, they have really put this one together so well it was almost impossible to decipher if it was valid or not. What clued me was that I didn't remember ever having a 50% discount on my account to begin with that would have required my receiving a call like this.

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.
