Hi - I'm an internet only customer so just get the basic Xfinity channels via Stream. Any chance the olympics will be in 4k using the app? Haven't been able to find any info on that yet. Thanks

Ugh, Olympics in 4k is only going to be Live again! Boo, live 4k Prime Time events will be what ever you guys choose for us. If you're not home watching it live, you don't get 4k events. No rebroadcast, no dvr'ing, no access to hours of 4k on-demand events like you guys gave us before... Oh, and the Opening Ceremony will be on in 3:30AM Pacific Time - sorry West coast, we are out of luck.

I would really like to know why 4k has become some sacred holy untouchable entity that is only available Live? Given comcast owns NBC who has the exclusive rights on the olympics, I just don't understand exactly who is requiring xfinity to restrict it to Live only, and why? And It's not like Xfinity doesn't have the technology to enable 4k On Demand, or they are trying to monetize 4k content. It's more like they are trying to bury it, make it hard to find and hard to watch. It's really disappointing, especially after enjoying the very first 4k olympics fully On Demand for several weeks, even after the games had ended.

Its been noted several times on these threads that the 4K channel broadcasts for sporting events in particular seem to be processed incorrectly by the X1 box. I have a fairly new Samsung 4K TV with HDR, etc. Winter Olympics just started and make Comcast experience even more frustrating.
I typically keep the settings to allow box to switch to best possible signal. So if I went to NBC standard definition, it would automatically switch over to NBC HD. Great picture, great quality.
Except the WInter Olympics, like other sports events, automatically jump you to Xfinity's new fancy 4K broadcast. That would be great except for the fact that 4K is horrible through the X1 box. See other posts for smarter people than me explaining why - washed out images, zero contrast, guide text also looking washed out. Some have suggested you have to adjust your TV picture quality to compensate which seems like a bad solution. Others have said a X1 box tweak on those channels works, need to try that one.
Solution for me has been to turn off the automatic switch to the better quality feed (since the switch to 4k Olympics is a horrible picture) which is problematic for older family members who may not remember that just pressing 4 for New York WNBC doesn't get you the best picture. Seeing someone watch TV on a big screen in SD makes me crazy...
More importantly, its amazing that Comcast spends a fortune on Olympic coverage, shoots for a new 4k experience, and then on a high end TV provides a horrible customer experience.

It is absolutely unacceptable if 4k Olympics can’t be recorded to watch later anymore. We know you can do it. It was stunning this summer.
What’s crazy is seeing this in 4k is a huge draw and Comcast is once again making it difficult to enjoy a service that we pay for.

Channel 1387 (Xfinity 4K 1): For 38 NBC local affiliates airing the Primetime nightly
I cannot find this channel only 1388. I have a 4k xfinity box and tv. So why can’t I see a 4k feed

I still intentionally use Legacy Cable boxes. If I search for Olympic programming in OnDemand, I can see that it is there, but it's not organized - just lists brief titles. In the actual OnDemand menu, there is no section for 2022 Olympics. I found one for 2020 Tokyo Olympics (SD and HD, and both are now empty), so that looks like a big oops. Someone needs to add the section for THIS 2022 Olympics and add the programming that is already loaded.
I did start using the Peacock app, but it still isn't as well-organized into smaller segments. It's all or nothing, and also the forward and reverse controls are still lousy, so I wanted to see if the presentation was better through OnDemand.
Again - LEGACY box, so no talking into a remote or X1 interface.

Would like to enjoy all of this 4K Olympic coverage, but I'm having a terrible time getting a good looking 4K picture. When I switch to 4K the guide is barely legible, colors are off and everything is extremely dark.
I found an older thread that suggested I switch off of the "Best Available" display resolution, but that hasn't made a difference. Has anyone had any luck with anything else?

This is extremely disappointing. I won't watch the Olympics live. I need to watch slightly delayed by DVR so I can speed up the boring parts that are 80% of what's on screen with sports. Waiting for judging, pauses between events, you name it. DVR is the only way. You won't even give me 4K Olympics on my Flex, and even if I bought X1 (will you sell it for just 2 weeks?) I would have to watch live?
It's 2022, and sports are an ideal thing to have in 4K.
Xfinity is so behind the times. In China they are getting it in 8K, it is said.

This happened during the summer Olympics too, it’s as though the equipment just isn’t fast enough to show smoothe 4k video. How do I fix it?

When I attempt to watch 4K programming of the Olympics i get a error message that my system is incompatible for watching 4K. My tv is 4K and HDR which is turned on. I am using the xfinity X4 HD box. This past week watched the playoff on Fox in 4K no problem. It seams that the Olympics is being shown thru a special channel. Is this the problem? Need help.

Am I understanding correctly that Comcast is providing On Demand Olympic events to X1 Customers, only?
