Xb8 loses internet

I recently upgraded to an XB8. I have great Wi-Fi connection throughout my house, but when I go into other rooms the connection doesn’t have internet. If I come back near the XB8, I have to turn off Wi-Fi on my phone then turn it back on to get internet connection. Again, I don’t lose Wi-Fi, just in

Question

@user_h3amf3 This bears repeating; "Bear in mind that we've seen many posts here that the MoCA feature gets turned back on with their overnight re-boots / updates for the device. The best policy is to be sure to use that POE filter !"

App says things are connected, devices say they're paused

Every device in my house is having this issue, my app says they're connected with great signal, but the device itself says that I need to sign in but then that the device is paused and I need to go to the app. I've restarted gateway, restarted my devices, unplugged the modem for various amounts of

Question

You might be shutting off MoCA on your neighbors gateway. After you disable it, drop your WiFi or Ethernet connection, then connect again.  Perhaps you'll be on another neighbors gateway then or perhaps yours. How can you tell who's gateway yo

Moca filter

I have not had this issue in 8 years of having Xfinity until this weekend. I am seeking unwanted devices connecting to my network. I have tried to change passwords and wifi name. Nothing works. I have also tried to toggle on and off the MoCa filter but I am still getting devices connected. Any ideas

New Xfinity user / no internet

Hi, I started my Xfinity service last week. I had some immediate issues with my neighbors devices appearing on my network and vise versa, this caused spotty and slow connection but I resolved the issue by disabling moCA in my router settings. This solution worked for a couple of days for both my ne

Nope, that one won't work. It's only 5 to 1002. MoCA operates at a frequency above that. You'll need to use a splitter as I recommended. Here's one that's currently available on Amazon; https://www.amazon.com/Antronix-MMC1002H-B-Splitter-Fronti

Has anyone successfully setup and used MoCa on Xfinity Modem

Hi All, I've recently moved to Xfinity. I noticed that MoCA is available in-built with the modem i've received. Does that mean I will need just one more MoCA adapter plugged into my co-ax upstairs to use internet over ethernet instead of wifi?  I'm a li'l confused, Appreciate it i

Question

@CallanWeir Hire a local low voltage electrician. Another possible option. If you have coax cable jacks in both rooms, MoCA adapters may be a solution for you. Ask your boss if they are o/k. You can Google "MoCA adapters" for more info. Good luck

Installation of New Ethernet Port

One of the requirements for my job is to have a hardline internet connection and to do that I need to get an ethernet cable hardwired up to my office. We have one downstairs that we use for our wifi router, but I can't exactly snake 25 feet of cable up the stairs. How would I go about doing this?

Question

@user_8m3z6i Typically they don't allow two separate cable modems at one address. You could get the office wired up with coax and use a MoCA adapter instead. MoCA is an alternate hardwired way to connect devices to a home network if ethernet cablin

MoCA 2.0 adapter connects to XB7 gateway but MoCA 2.5 adapter doesn't

Hi - I connected a MoCA bonded 2.0 adapter to a coax jack and it works well with my MoCA-enabled XB7 gateway, but the resulting speed via ethernet cable to my computer maxes out at around 450 mbps. I have 1200 mbps service, so I purchased a MoCA 2.5 adapter to get a faster speed, but this adapter wo

Question

Yup, it's rare but it happens, sadly. Seems like you even checked your MoCA filter which would have been my other suggestion. Are you all fixed up at this time anyways or still waiting for the engineering team to resolve?

Someone else’s recordings showing on my account!

This is the second time this has happened in the last two months. YW and good luck ! PS: You also have the option of using a combo grounding block with a built-in MoCA filter. You can tell the difference by its longer length: Link here Feel free to post back if you have more questions.

Question

Did you mean POE filter or a Power "injector" ? If it's the former, then not if you put it on the input port of the first splitter off of the drop line coming directly from the street / pole. And are you sure that the MoCA feature is actually enabled

Having issues with setting up Moca with the XB7 gateway

Hi, i am currently setting up the screenbeam moca adapters to the xb7 and am receiving no coax signal. My guess to this problem is that 1, the moca is not enabled on the XB7 (I currently do not have access to the gateway login) or 2, a 4 way spiltter that is incompatible with the adapters that is pr
