XB7 - Can't make changes in app, not broadcasting 5Ghz band
This all started when I upgraded to Xfinity Complete with the battery backup option. I already had an XB7 at home, but I figured I would see if the "new" one had updated firmware, which it did not. I have had my current one for at least 2 years and it has firmware 7.9, whereas the "new" one has 7.6.

Short version: yes, it's probably just a radio limitation, though it's likely a combination of the XB7 and the phone. A laptop might do better, especially one with a higher end WiFi adapter. There's a good chance an XB8 or 3rd party WiFi
