Does previous tenant need to cancel service before I can activate mine?

I just received my Xfi gateway and would like to activate it. However, the service from the previous tenant (also Xfinity) is still active. Will that prevent me from activating my service? Does he need to cancel first?

When setting up a payment arrangement, due I need to have the amount available on my card? I know I will need it by the due date, but what about the day I set it up? I am worried it will be denied if I don’t have enough in the account.

I was just informed that as of Dec 22nd, we will not have access to Channel 5 -WCVB and will be switched to WLNE ABC 6 in Providence. This is absolutely crazy!!! I have watched WCVB news for over 30 years, why in the heck would I want to watch a Providence news station?? I live in Massachusetts and

All we can do is try to keep the pressure on Comcast to grandfather us, as should be. Probably will have no effect. Seems we small data users are not profitable for them.
