@user_17ae3b have you tried changing the DNS list so that you can confirm it is not a DNS server issue. try using 8.8.8.8 primary 8.8.4.4 secondary those are the DNS servers that Google has open for public use.

How do I change my Gateway's IP address? (WAN IP that is automatically configured)
Through the xfinity app I have tried changing my WAN IP but the app says it is automatically configured. I have turned it off and back on, I have tried renew and release on windows, and the only way I can change it is a VPN. If anyone could help that would be great.

@user_yw8z5o I'm not seeing that Xfinity DNS (75.75.75.75 anyway) is blocking access to your DNS. At least I can query their servers using Xfinity's. Maybe there is some other cloud edge issue. Something to try since you got a Netgear

I use an Arris cable modem that I own. Can I not choose a DNS server of my own on it? Also, if I set my choice of the DNS server on my router that is bridged to the cable modem, will the DNS lookups still go through Comcast servers?

I do not have any difficulty to load websites, search with Google, and use the internet to stream video. However, I am unable to ping any DNS servers, including the primary and secondary DNS servers shown in my router. Those are 75.75.75.75 and 75.75.75.76. Neither can I ping Google DNS at 8.8.8.8.

I'm trying to use Comcast's SMTP server to send out my private domain email. I am assuming that if I can log into the Xfinity website and view my Comcast Webmail I should be able to use my Outlook Client to send email authenticated by that same username/password.
