DNS requests appear to be intercepted

In testing a DNS issue, I appear to have discovered that my DNS requests are being intercepted. When I query a DNS server that is an authority (confirmed by performing the query with another internet provider and also confirmed by a friend who is also on Xfinity), I'm receiving a response that the a

Question

@XfinityRay If it's the same problem I ran into it's a DNS server issue apparently. I changed the DNS server in my Chrome settings from the ISP's server to Google's DNS server and the problem went away.

Cannot use smtp.comcast.net as an outgoing mailserver for my private domain

I'm trying to use Comcast's SMTP server to send out my private domain email. I am assuming that if I can log into the Xfinity website and view my Comcast Webmail I should be able to use my Outlook Client to send email authenticated by that same username/password. Email configuration setup is correct

@user_17ae3b have you tried changing the DNS list so that you can confirm it is not a DNS server issue. try using 8.8.8.8 primary 8.8.4.4 secondary those are the DNS servers that Google has open for public use.
