Cannot use smtp.comcast.net as an outgoing mailserver for my private domain

I'm trying to use Comcast's SMTP server to send out my private domain email. I am assuming that if I can log into the Xfinity website and view my Comcast Webmail I should be able to use my Outlook Client to send email authenticated by that same username/password. Email configuration setup is correct

@BruceW Interestingly this is now not enough. I have my own MB8600 modem and Linksys WRT3200acm router with Google DNS specified. Even with this one, comcast uses the IPV6 DNS route to bounce IPV4 DNS requests to localhost (192.168.1.1) and insets i

@user_17ae3b have you tried changing the DNS list so that you can confirm it is not a DNS server issue. try using 8.8.8.8 primary 8.8.4.4 secondary those are the DNS servers that Google has open for public use.

How do I change my Gateway's IP address? (WAN IP that is automatically configured)

Through the xfinity app I have tried changing my WAN IP but the app says it is automatically configured. I have turned it off and back on, I have tried renew and release on windows, and the only way I can change it is a VPN. If anyone could help that would be great.

I DON'T WANT THE ROUTER TO DO IT FOR ME. I want to manage my own 2.4 and 5GHz networks. I don't care if the router thinks it can manage my network better. I want them separate for very specific reasons. How do I break the networks apart. I used to be able to do it, now after a reset, I can't seem to

I purchased the storm ready equipment to have wifi in case of an outage. It's installed and configured. In the Xfinity app it shows strong signal (wifi and cellular) and battery fully charged 100%.
