NAT Type and UPNP

so, I have an Xbox.  I have a xb8 router and our internet is great.  however, my NAT type keeps fluctuating between open and moderate making gaming laggy and disconnecting me from online games constantly.  I reset the Xbox.  I reset the router.  I have run internet tests.  Nothing is working.  My internet settings are fine.  not sure what else to do.  I cannot get in touch with an agent on the phone either.

We're having the same problem. Took an old TV box to get replaced, they offered a new XB8. Took it home, replaced it, and now any multiplayer game lags and stutters like crazy. I didn't have this problem before with the old modem, but I already sent that one to the Xfinity store. The connection speed is worse as well. Everything else works fine, it just hates my playstation in particular.

Is your Playstation connected to the internet wirlessly or over a hardwired ethernet connection? Have you set up port forwarding for the Playstation? You can find instructions here if needed.

Hello! It's connected wirelessly. I haven't set up port forwarding. Everything ran smoothly before we changed the modem.

I've reset the modem multiple times, "forgot" the network on my PS5 and logged back into the network, and I've set up a port forward thinking it would work, but I've been told that really doesn't help (and it hasn't). I thought I'd wait a bit just to see if it would get better on its own, but I've been having the same issue for weeks now. The speed isn't the problem, every other device works fine, it's just constant packet loss and latency issues on every multiplayer game. Any help would be appreciated, it's honestly frustrating.

If your on xbox go test nat type and it will configure the XB8 modem to the xbox
