Thanks folks - I'll check on whether there is a MOCA POE filter also from a previous Xfinity install. It, like a MOCA splitter, are certainly inexpensive enough to try. There is so much old cabling from years of people switching back and forth betwee

XiD X1 and ethernet switch

Long time fios user, just switched to xfinity so am trying to figure things out. Xfinity Coax enters house in Den, connects to xFi gateway, which I believe is considered to be a modem/wifi router. This replaces my Fios Model G3100 router except the G3100 needed both an incoming coax and an additiona

Funny you should say that because I do have intermittent connection and there are 3  unknown devices on MoCA that I do not recognize and the settings say privacy is disabled yet no apparent way to change that.  Thanks

What are all these unknown connected devices?

I have more connected devices than I am able to identify, e.g., numbers separate by colons and then letters, e.g., f2:32:7b:72, et.c ( not a real one but you get the point). How do I find out what these are and whether I need them or should delete them? ANd a few of them are OFFLINE DEVICES. What th

High data use and you can’t explain it?

I am very upset how subscribers are left in the dark here and the only way they are helped is suggesting them to purchase unlimited internet! That’s not fair! It is time for Xfinity to admit that their gateways have a MoCA issue where signals seem to mix up on coaxial lines in apartment buildings ca

XiD-P units not connecting

I just received an upgrade that consisted of a XG1-A box plus 2 XiD-P units. The XG1-A set up fine and appears to be working. The XiD-P units will not connect. Xfinity packet loss connection issues.

We are experiencing severe and constant bursts in packet loss that is disruptive to activities and systems that need stable connections. Through testing and troubleshooting everything we have access to here at home, several systems report lost packets in bursts (often spaced by a few minutes) that l

Question

@user_uew400 Hello, adding this MoCA Filter did in fact work. All I had to do was screw it into the back of my modem and let the wifi restart. I have not had any issues since I added this.

Question

Currently the Xi6 needs to access the DVR via MoCA.  In theory it really does not need to do this since everything on the DVR is mirrored on the cloud DVR.  So maybe someday the Xi6 will be programed that way.  If you have problems getting an XG1v4 f

4K boxes require Xfinity Modem?

I chatted with Customer Service to request 4K boxes for my TVs that are 4K, including a DVR. I have my own cable modem and router so was told that the 4K boxes are wireless and require a leased Xfinity router/modem. First, is this true, and second, does Comcast have a plan to allow the 4K boxes to w

Question

It appears to be working now, but download speed is between 100-200 (I get over 600 WiFi close to my gateway). Going to swap out the splitter I have for a MoCa compliant one and see if that helps.

MoCa Adapter with XB7

I recently bought a MoCa adapter and I have the XB7. I connected the adapter into one of my outlets with a coax cable and Ethernet to the device I’m trying to use, but it says “No Internet”. Does this mean MoCa is not enabled? How can I confirm if this is enabled on my XB7 now that we no longer have

Question

It could be the amp itself, since it worked when you bypassed it. Additional hidden splitter before the amp would hinder moca through the amp. Don’t use voip port for the dvr. Are you using the remote power through port 1?

Re: MoCA adapter and Comscope AC adapter

According to Commscope, the CSMAPDU9VP has a built-in MoCA PoE filter, so do I need to install a second one at the point of entry? And on this topic, I installed a CSMAPDU9VP becuase my splitter didn't have enought outputs. So I removed the splitter and installed the Commscope amplifier. At that poi

Question

@XfinityAngie If security was important, you wouldn't have two factor data breaches with email, or MoCA 2.0 enabled by default. Controlling a gateway with a phone app wouldn't be an option either. A password change doesn't fix this.

No. One modem per address is what they allow. There are other options. Google for WiFi repeaters / range extenders, WiFi mesh systems / pods, powerline ethernet adapters, MoCA adapters. Good luck !
