Xi5 / xi6 questions...
Is xi6 only for internet only customers?
Any issues with wireless boxes losing connection or being slow compared to a hardwired box?
If internet goes down, does cable still work on wireless boxes?
It does on wired.

the xi6 does use the Xfinity modem's wifi bandwidth and communicates via the gateway using MoCA to your home DVR or xg2 hub to use tuners or playback recordings. if the network is down, playback is not available on the xi6. the smart phone/tablet can play cloud recordings and TVgo channels and TVgo on-demand programming using any available wifi when the internet is down.

need one of the companion set top boxes to be a coax connected xg2 (has 3 tuners to loan out) freeing up the DVR tuners to record. have you considered using roku devices for the wireless devices?

Would only recognize my 5.0 network.
Wouldn’t connect to 5.0 network or via WPS.
Tried to type in my 2.4 network but there no Period character so I can’t try my 2.4 network.
Box kept freezing during setup.
Enabled moca. Now back to moca off. Disabling wouldnt stick.
Finally got it to stick now.
Original box is freezing left and right now.
I seriously despise this company lol

So, is it like fios then?
With fios if the internet goes out, but the network is still on, then I can still watch tv but will lose tv guide. Is this the same?
Also, will it compete for internet bandwidth if it's using moca?

to link the xi6 to the xg2 unplug the DVR and Xg2 and xi6. plug in the DVR and when it is up and running, bring up the xg2. once it is up, plug in the xi6. This way each device will see what is on the network. Do you have an xfinity rental modem? there are two that have the MoCA built in. if yuu are using your own router you can't use an ix6 unless you are on ethernet to the router. (uses with ethernet to MoCA bridge).
