Question   I am not happy about the daily update time for my X1 box; how can I change it?     Answer   If you’re an Xfinity X1 customer, your TV Boxes will automatically reboot once per day to ensure that you have all of the latest software. This reboot, also known as   Daily Update Time, happens by default between 3:00 AM and 4:00 AM local time. You can now change the window of time in which your X1 TV Boxes will automatically reboot each day. Learn more about how to change the daily reboot schedule for your TV Boxes. Changing the Daily Update Time for TV Boxes Press the   xfinity   button on your remote control, navigate to highlight the   Settings   wheel, and press the   OK   button.   Navigate to highlight   Preferences, and press the   OK   button.   Navigate to highlight   General, and press the   OK   button.   Navigate to highlight   Daily Update Time, and press the   OK   button.   Adjust the   Time   of your Daily Update in two-hour blocks. Xfinity X1 eye control is a web-based remote for tablets and computers that pairs with an existing eye gaze system and allows viewers to change the channel, set a recording, search for a show and more, all with a glance.   X1 eye control is free and uses a web page remote control that works seamlessly with existing eye gaze hardware and software, Sip-and-Puff switches and other assistive technologies. Question   I just received a letter from Comcast that states in June 2019 the OnDemand app will no longer be available to TiVo users. Is this accurate?   Answer   Yes, we have started to notify impacted customers.   On June 25, Comcast and TiVo will remove the ability for customers to access Xfinity On Demand on TiVo devices.   The platform that connects TiVo and Xfinity devices uses out-of-date technology that can’t be upgraded or updated, making it susceptible to security breaches and therefore both companies decided to sunset the feature.   **Note**: No other aspect of your TiVo experience will be affected by this change (e.g., you will still be able to access live programming and DVR content).     Why can I no longer access Xfinity On Demand on my TiVo device after June 25th? We made the decision to remove the Xfinity On Demand app from TiVo devices because the platform utilizes outdated technology that can no longer be updated and is therefore susceptible to security breaches. The decision to remove the feature was made in close consultation with TiVo.   Does this include access to SVOD (Subscription Video On Demand) packages I access through Xfinity On Demand such as: DOGTV and History Vault On Demand? Yes. In order to continue watching this content, you will need an Xfinity TV box or a device that can access the Xfinity Stream App (Roku, certain smart TVs, smartphone, tablet or computer).   Will any other parts of my TiVo experience be affected by this change? No, no other part of your TiVo experience with Xfinity will be affected. You can still watch and record live TV, and your recordings won’t be deleted.   Are there other ways I can watch On Demand content? Yes. If you have an Xfinity TV Box, you can still access your On Demand content, including any SVOD subscriptions. You can also access all of your On Demand content via the Xfinity Stream app and portal, which is available on Apple and Android devices, computers/laptops, Roku devices, Samsung Smart TVs and later this year on LG Smart TVs.   Comcast and Google announced the nationwide launch of YouTube on   Xfinity X1, giving viewers quick, easy access to YouTube’s vast online video collection alongside the live, on demand, DVR and other web programming that is already included with their Xfinity TV subscription. YouTube content will be accessible via the X1 voice remote and YouTube videos will be featured throughout Xfinity on Demand.    YouTube’s online videos will be featured throughout the Xfinity On Demand menu and available in the YouTube app, providing easy access to trending videos and complementing existing movie, show, music, news, and celebrity content screens on X1 and supplementing thematic destinations.    Featuring universal voice control with the X1 voice remote, customers can also access YouTube content by:   Simply saying "YouTube" to launch the app.  Searching for topical videos by saying, "YouTube, show me make-up tutorials," or "Find party dip recipes on YouTube."   Calling up trailers, clips, and more related to movies, TV shows or celebrities by saying, "Watch ‘Carpool Karaoke’ on YouTube," or "Show me clips from ‘Empire’ on YouTube."   Saying, "Find live streams from Coachella on YouTube," or "YouTube, show me performances from the 2017 Grammy’s" to watch or browse clips of live event feeds.   Current X1 and YouTube signed-in customers can readily access their personalized settings and subscriptions when accessing YouTube on X1.  In addition to finding YouTube content with the X1 voice remote and within Xfinity On Demand, customers can just launch the YouTube app located in the Apps and Networks sections of X1.  For more information about X1, visit   www.xfinity.com/X1     Eligibility To use the YouTube app on X1, you'll need: Xfinity Internet service A compatible X1 TV Box (excludes RNG150s)     Access and Use the YouTube App To access the YouTube app, press the   xfinity   button on your remote control and navigate to   Apps > YouTube. When you perform a voice search for YouTube videos, we search YouTube on your behalf and present results from YouTube directly to you. When your YouTube search returns videos flagged by YouTube as inappropriate for all ages, we show this "Content Warning" message. At this point, you can choose to  Continue  to proceed to view YouTube search results or  Cancel  the search. **Note**: This message cannot be turned off at this time. How does YouTube flag age-restricted videos? YouTube has 24/7 monitoring to make sure all videos follow YouTube's  Community Guidelines . Videos that violate YouTube Community Guidelines are removed by YouTube. Age-restricted videos are also flagged during this process. Can I view 4K YouTube content on my X1 TV Box? Yes. 4K YouTube content is available if you have an XG1v4 or Xi6 TV Box with a compatible 4K TV. Please  contact us  to order and learn more about  watching 4K content on Xfinity . What video resolution is required to view 4K content on YouTube? When your X1 TV Box is set up, it will automatically be set to the highest video output resolution possible for your TV. If you wish to manually change your settings, the video display must be set to 2160p30 or 2160p60 resolution on the 4K capable Xfinity TV Box. On the XG1v4 or Xi6 TV Box, this can be done in the  Settings   menu on X1, and the cables provided are compatible. Please see more about  using the X1 guide to adjust your video display . YouTube 4K badging is based on the highest resolution available of the video. YouTube 4K badging may display on a HD device, as the video will automatically downscale to the best supported resolution and continue playback. To see which resolution the YouTube video is playing back on within the YouTube app, click on the  Stats for Nerds   menu option. How do I report offensive YouTube videos? Because YouTube hosts videos from the open Internet, YouTube cannot 100% guarantee that all videos will be flagged appropriately through 24/7 monitoring. At times, inappropriate videos may show up on YouTube for a short amount of time until they are removed or flagged as age-inappropriate by YouTube. To report offensive videos to YouTube: Play the YouTube video you want to report. Press the   down   arrow on your remote to bring up the video player controls. Navigate left to   More Options. Navigate right and select   Report   (Flag   icon).   Choose the reason why you want to report this video.   Why am I unable to sign in to the YouTube app on X1? If you are unable to sign in to the YouTube app on X1, please verify that you have entered the correct YouTube username and password. How do I set parental controls or block access to the YouTube app on X1? There are several ways you can set parental controls for the YouTube app on X1. Lock   TV-MA   content under   Settings > Parental Controls > TV Rating Locks. Once locked, a Parental Control PIN is required before you can access the YouTube app.   You can block access to the YouTube app using an   Application Lock. Enable Restricted Mode provided by the YouTube app: Open the YouTube app on X1. Select   Settings   from the   Main Menu. Set   Restricted Mode   to "Enabled." Restricted mode hides videos that may contain inappropriate content flagged by YouTube. Note that there is no PIN required to enable or disable restricted mode. **Note**:  Once the YouTube app is launched, X1 parental controls settings will  not  guard against new content searches or playback within the YouTube app. What accessibility features are available with YouTube? YouTube includes Closed Captioning. Videos that are viewed via the YouTube app will display accessibility features you have set up in your YouTube account. Please note that your X1 accessibility user preferences do not apply within the YouTube app. How do I turn Closed Captioning on in the YouTube app? To set your YouTube accessibility settings, visit  youtube.com/account_playback . Does it cost anything to use the YouTube app on X1? There are no additional charges for accessing YouTube through X1; however, YouTube usage on X1 counts towards any monthly Xfinity Internet service data usage plans that may apply. Why am I receiving an error message when I try to watch purchased content? At this time, the YouTube app on X1 does not support watching purchased content. Question   Where can I get a local printable Xfinity channel lineup?   Answer ***Created by our Community***     Comcast may have it online at  https://www.xfinity.com/learn/channel-lineup  or  https://www.xfinity.com/support/local-channel-lineup/. From there you will see the option to "Print".   A lineup may also have been included with one of your recent bills -- check  https://customer.xfinity.com/ .   Service Centers should have printed channel lineups. Question   Can I buy my own DVR or cable box?     Answer   Yes. If we determine by the serial number that the box is lost or stolen and/or the property of another cable company, we would not support it.
