Comcast Interactive TV on legacy TV Boxes (Answered)
Simply put, Interactive TV turns television into an active and not a passive medium by giving you the ability to interact with your TV on legacy TV Boxes.
Benefits of Interactive TV
Become more involved with your TV with Comcast Interactive TV. Use your remote to access free product offers, set program reminders and recordings, get up-to-the-minute news, weather and more.
Some features include:
- Ready/Remind/Record: Xfinity TV subscribers can set on-screen reminders for upcoming programs. If you also rent a DVR from us, you can also set a DVR recording from the program's preview.
- Request for Information: If you have Xfinity TV service, you can request coupons for certain products advertised in 30-second commercials. Pop-ups will appear on the screen, giving you the chance to get coupons or additional information about the advertised product.
- Interactive TV Menu/Interactive TV Button: Easily access your list of Interactive TV features from the Quick Menu and TV Guide Main Menu. The Interactive TV features you have will depend on your TV Box type, where you live, and whether you subscribe to Xfinity Voice and/or Xfinity Internet.
Note: Some of these features may not be available in your area.
How it works
A variety of technologies help open a two-way communication path between your digital cable service and the programmer or advertiser, enabling you to interact with your TV via elements such as real-time screen pop-ups and message overlays.
Getting Interactive TV
While free to all legacy Xfinity TV customers, Interactive TV is only available in certain areas at this time.
Note:
- Some Interactive TV features may require you subscribe to Xfinity Voice or Xfinity Internet. You'll also need a compatible legacy TV Box. The Request for Information and Ready/Rewind/Record Interactive TV features are compatible with all legacy TV Boxes. The Home Shopping Network (HSN) Shop by Remote Interactive TV feature is only compatible with X1 TV Boxes.
