If you’re using an  eligible modem  that you purchased, you’ll be prompted to set up WiFi manually during activation. As you activate your Xfinity Flex streaming TV Box, watch for tips and tricks to help you get the most of your experience, like how to easily find content or how to set up xFi if you’ve got an xFi Gateway. Self-Install Kit Equipment Xfinity Flex can be installed by Self-Install Kit, which includes: Flex streaming TV Box Xfinity Voice Remote Power cable HDMI cable     Activation Process Activate your Xfinity Internet. If you rent an Xfinity Gateway, the easiest way to activate it is to use the Xfinity xFi app. If you bought your own device or don’t want to use the Xfinity xFi app, you can complete activation by visiting   xfinity.com/activate. See step-by-step instructions on   Activating Your Xfinity Internet Service. Before setting up Xfinity Flex, make sure you can connect to your home Xfinity Internet network (either WiFi or wired with Ethernet cable) through a desktop or mobile device. Connect the HDMI cable from your TV to the TV Box. Turn on your TV and choose the correct HDMI input. Plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet and connect the other end to the USB-C port on the box. Once the power indicator lights up, you’re ready to go! Only use the supplied power adapter, and avoid outlets controlled by dimmers. Remove the plastic tab from the back of the remote, aim it toward the box and wait for on-screen instructions.   Power on the device.   Select your language.   If you have an Xfinity Gateway, your device will try to automatically connect to your WiFi. If you'd like to set up your connection manually, press the   Info   (i) button on your Xfinity Remote.   If your box can’t connect automatically, you can manually connect using one of three options:   Enter your WiFi network password.   Use WiFi Protected Setup (WPS) pairing.   Use an Ethernet cable.   Enter the last four digits of the phone number listed on your Xfinity account.   Create or choose a name for your TV Box.   Your device will automatically optimize for sound and HD video.   Set up your Voice Remote.   At this point in the activation process, if your Internet connection hasn't been fully established, you may be asked to connect to WiFi. Please refer to   step eight   for instructions on how to connect to your network.   Scroll through Flex Tips & Tricks using the   left   and   right arrow buttons   on your remote to read through the tutorial. Click   Let’s Get Started   once you’re ready to start using your Xfinity Flex TV Box.   Your Flex TV Box is now ready to use! Activation Troubleshooting If you're having trouble activating your Flex streaming TV box, the most common solution is to restart it by reconnecting your USB-C power cord and HDMI cable to both the box and TV. Make sure you’re connected to the Internet. Restarting your modem can fix many common Internet-related issues. You can also try to connect with a wired Ethernet cable to check if the issue is with your WiFi connection. If you're having network connection issues or need to reestablish your network connection, you can press the   WPS button   (two arrows icon) on the bottom of the TV Box. Until you're able to complete your Voice Remote pairing, make sure you point your remote directly towards the front of the TV Box. If you come across an error screen and you can't fix the issue on your own, please mention the error code on the bottom-right corner of your TV screen when   talking with us.     Frequently Asked Questions How do I get Xfinity Flex? ***Created by our Community***        I have had the RNG 150N cable box and the Xfinity XR2 remote. For only a short period of time, and I thought the box had a mind of its own, as several times, it had changed to Espanol, with the Video Descriptive Service mode being activated, [seemingly] without doing anything at all on my end.   By random chance, I had read, in a different forum, that the "D" button on the XR2 remote control for the RNG 150N cable box changes the Default Audio Track (so you don't have to press the red Xfinity Menu button to access the Main Menu).   It seems that since the "D" button is placed closely above the number "3" button, it is relatively easy to inadvertently/accidentally press that when pressing the number "3" button and hence the box would appear to be changing the Default Audio Track and activating the Video Descriptive Service mode.   Of course, simply pressing the "D" button again turns off the Descriptive Video Service mode and returns the Default Audio Track to English.  Case of the RNG 150N and XR2 Remotes with a mind of its own SOLVED!

Other X1 TV Box models (Xi3, Xi4, XiD and XG2) only have one power light. To view more information about our X1 lights see here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/x1-led-display-guide     If you believe it may be an issue with your device, we recommend cleaning the device, ensuring it is in a well-ventilated area and rebooting the device (unplugging it from the wall outlet, wait 1 minute and then plug it back in). If you continue to experience this after rebooting the device and it occurs outside your Daily Update Time window you could also be experiencing low signal to your box or a defective device. You can test the outlet by connecting a different box there. If the issue persists with another box, you are likely in need of a technician visit. If you do not experience this issue with your other box, you likely need to replace the defective device. You can replace it by taking it to a local Xfinity store (find your local store here:  https://www.xfinity.com/support/service-center-locations/ ) or we can help you replace it by posting your request here:  https://forums.xfinity.com/t5/Customer-Service/bd-p/CustServ_CustServ     Learn how to use the Xfinity X1 On-Screen Guide to change the brightness of the   Power   button and time display lights on the front of your X1 TV Box. Question   Today I discovered that local radio stations were no longer on my channel lineup. Recently I had local FM stations on my channel list. However today they were gone. I am wondering what happened to those channels?   Answer     We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. We removed FM Radio from our line-up, because we no longer have the capability to carry it. We notified you about this change in your recent bills. You can find similar entertainment on X1 TV Apps like  Pandora, iHeart, Xite, and NPR one .   When doing a quick search on the iHeart Radio app on Xfinity X1 set-top boxes you will be able to find select local FM Radio stations.   For additional information on how to use the iHeart Radio app on Xfinity X1 set top boxes, see here: https://forums.xfinity.com/t5/TV/ANSWERED-How-to-get-iHeartRadio-on-Xfinity-X1/ta-p/3086212   **NOTE**:   You do not need to download anything or log into the iHeart Radio app to use this service directly on your Xfinity X1 set top box.   KQED Programming on iHeart Radio App For additional information about NPR One on Xfinity X1 boxes see here: https://forums.xfinity.com/t5/TV/ANSWERED-NPR-One-on-Xfinity-X1/ta-p/3237085     Frequently Asked Questions Why did this happen? Comcast regularly examines programs and channels in an effort to provide the best overall entertainment choices and content customers want the most.   I signed an agreement for my service. It's not fair to remove a channel that was included in the promotion. We know that it is upsetting to lose a channel that you like. Our promotional offers provide discounted pricing off of our services. However, we may rearrange or change programming, features or offerings that are a part of our services, even those that we provide under a promotional offer. We regularly evaluate our XFINITY TV to ensure it includes the best combination of programming options to appeal to our customers.

Question   I just received a letter from Comcast that states in June 2019 the OnDemand app will no longer be available to TiVo users. Is this accurate?   Answer   Yes, we have started to notify impacted customers.   On June 25, Comcast and TiVo will remove the ability for customers to access Xfinity On Demand on TiVo devices.   The platform that connects TiVo and Xfinity devices uses out-of-date technology that can’t be upgraded or updated, making it susceptible to security breaches and therefore both companies decided to sunset the feature.   **Note**: No other aspect of your TiVo experience will be affected by this change (e.g., you will still be able to access live programming and DVR content).     Why can I no longer access Xfinity On Demand on my TiVo device after June 25th? We made the decision to remove the Xfinity On Demand app from TiVo devices because the platform utilizes outdated technology that can no longer be updated and is therefore susceptible to security breaches. The decision to remove the feature was made in close consultation with TiVo.   Does this include access to SVOD (Subscription Video On Demand) packages I access through Xfinity On Demand such as: DOGTV and History Vault On Demand? Yes. In order to continue watching this content, you will need an Xfinity TV box or a device that can access the Xfinity Stream App (Roku, certain smart TVs, smartphone, tablet or computer).   Will any other parts of my TiVo experience be affected by this change? No, no other part of your TiVo experience with Xfinity will be affected. You can still watch and record live TV, and your recordings won’t be deleted.   Are there other ways I can watch On Demand content? Yes. If you have an Xfinity TV Box, you can still access your On Demand content, including any SVOD subscriptions. You can also access all of your On Demand content via the Xfinity Stream app and portal, which is available on Apple and Android devices, computers/laptops, Roku devices, Samsung Smart TVs and later this year on LG Smart TVs. See  Xfinity Stream App on Xfinity TV Partner Devices  for details on compatible devices.

When your YouTube search returns videos flagged by YouTube as inappropriate for all ages, we show this "Content Warning" message. At this point, you can choose to  Continue  to proceed to view YouTube search results or  Cancel  the search. **Note**: This message cannot be turned off at this time. How does YouTube flag age-restricted videos? YouTube has 24/7 monitoring to make sure all videos follow YouTube's  Community Guidelines . Yes. 4K YouTube content is available if you have an XG1v4 or Xi6 TV Box with a compatible 4K TV. Please  contact us  to order and learn more about  watching 4K content on Xfinity . On the XG1v4 or Xi6 TV Box, this can be done in the  Settings   menu on X1, and the cables provided are compatible. Please see more about  using the X1 guide to adjust your video display . YouTube 4K badging is based on the highest resolution available of the video. YouTube 4K badging may display on a HD device, as the video will automatically downscale to the best supported resolution and continue playback. To see which resolution the YouTube video is playing back on within the YouTube app, click on the  Stats for Nerds   menu option. How do I report offensive YouTube videos? Because YouTube hosts videos from the open Internet, YouTube cannot 100% guarantee that all videos will be flagged appropriately through 24/7 monitoring. At times, inappropriate videos may show up on YouTube for a short amount of time until they are removed or flagged as age-inappropriate by YouTube. To report offensive videos to YouTube: Play the YouTube video you want to report. Press the   down   arrow on your remote to bring up the video player controls. Navigate left to   More Options.   Below please find some X1 boxes along with photos depicting where to find the IR Target Eye locations (notated in yellow square), as well as the manufacturer name, X1 Platform name and any pertinent notes. Important point: ALL X1 boxes (excluding the RNG150 models) can do both RF and IR.  For larger images of more information, please message me.   Below is the Samsung XG2, manufacturer model number (on the bottom of the unit) is SX022ANM   Below is the Samsung RNG-150N, manufacturer model number SR150BNM   Below is the Pacxe XG2, manufacturer model number PX022ANM. Please note, the target is small and will appear as a tiny triangle centered just below the face of the unit.   Below is the Pace XG1, manufacturer model number PX001ANM   Below is the the Pace RNG-150N, manufacturer number PR150BNM   Below is the Pace Xi3, Manufacturer model number PX032ANI.   Below is the Pace XiD, Manufacturer model number PXD01ANI .   Below is the Cisco XiD, manufacturer model number CXD01ANI     A few more important notes to remember regarding IR usage. First, all X1 boxes use the same IR codes. So, if you change from one X1 box to a different model X1 box, you will not need to change any IR codes in your third party remotes. Some boxes have different sensitivity concerns with the IR signal, but the codes are the same. Usually, you can adjust the sensitivity gain via your third pary control processor.    Second, you cannot use Legacy Box IR codes with X1 boxes. They will not work. The same goes for the reverse; X1 codes will not work with Legacy products.   Lastly, not all Legacy product IR codes will work across different Legacy products. Many will, but some will not.     Additional Resources: Find out how to hide your TV Box or TV Adapter and still use your remote with an IR Extender or IR Receiver: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/using-your-remote-control-with-an-ir-extender
