Any scheduled DVR recordings for programming on WTTG MeTV will now record WTTG Start TV instead, beginning on Friday, May 9, 2022, at 12:00 AM. If you would like to continue to record MeTV, your recordings will need to be reset to record on WDME MeTV HD channel 1048. However, you can still watch any programming from WTTG MeTV that you previously recorded.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this situation has caused you, and please know we value you as a customer. This change was made by the broadcasters, independently of Comcast.
@XfinityGina Northern VA/Washington DC area has been experiencing issues with the new channel all week! First an error message “You don’t have access to this channel”. According to my channel lineup, I do! Then for about 48 hours the error reads “this channel requires a subscription - contact Xfinity/updatetv etc. “. I already have a subscription/all channels packages. This morning, Friday May 13 - the channel tunes in for 5 seconds and then goes into scrambling mode with only audio and green, white and black giant pixels freezing the frame and flashing about in such a manner it could trigger seizures for some. This is day 5 of the signal/channel transition. What the heck is going on?!? Why is taking a week to fix ?? The station points to the service provider and the service provider blames the station!! Get it together!
I'm getting the same thing from XFinity in Alexandria. Channel 1048 will play for 5 to 10 seconds and then it's scrambled. Very frustrating and we pay XFinity hefty programing service fees!
@7401hastings Hello and thank you for reaching out over our Xfinity Community Forum. The issue appears to have now been resolved for some of our valued Xfinity family members, so I just wanted to confirm, are you still experiencing the MeTV issues at this time? One way or another we will definitely get to the bottom of this, and get this resolved once and for all! It is the very least that we can do for a valued member of our Xfinity family!
The MeTV website says, "Our local station, KREG is experiencing technical issues with Comcast and DirecTV. We are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible and thank you for your patience in advance."
METV PLUS (CHANNEL 1043 PROSPECT CT) CHANGED TO STORY TV THIS MORNING. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED AND IF CAN I GET METV PLUS VIA COMCAST ANYMORE OR SOME OTHER WAY? THANK YOU
I started a thread about this which got merged with another thread that seems to have been closed with no resolution. The response in that thread that it's the fault of the broadcaster isn't correct since I can connect an antenna to my television and pick up MeTV on 44.3. Based on that, it seems like at least in the San Francisco area the problem is that Comcast isn't relaying the appropriate broadcast on the channel that should be MeTV, instead offering two channels with the same, new "StoryTV."
I understand that someone who works at Comcast who monitors the forum doesn't have the ability to fix this, but instead of ignoring the issue they should escalate this to the department that can correct this. There's no reason to dismiss customers' valid feedback that something is messed up, attempting to deflect the issue to the local broadcaster, when cable TV costs so much.
Between the economy and realizing we watch more "over the air" channels since they took away channels we liked, we cut cable and now have antenna. Have had no problems getting MeTV since.
In Chicago, the Story channel replaced MeTV+ on channel 361. There was a text message displayed on shows all week. The xfinity guide shows MeTV+ on channel 361, but it is still the Decades channel. I liked the shows on MeTV+, but it appears to be gone. Will it return to the xfinity lineup? If not, will the Decades channel lineup appear again on channel 359. I can't tell what Decade show episode is airing.
@gregjgisp Same problem here. 359 says metv+ but it's showing decades shows but the guide displays metv+ shows so I don't what decades shows are on. Comcast has to fix this.
I am happy to report that at least in the San Francisco Bay Area, this situation has been resolved -- MeTV is back on channel 1166, with StoryTV on 1165 and MeTV+ on 1167.
Some of us are using a converter box & MeTV was working on 183, but is now StoryTV. MeTV on 184 (& on 1166) is only HD, which we don't have. 1167 works for us, but I want my MeTV! Please change 184 to SD!
Good morning! Thank you for reaching out and for your feedback on MeTV +. We can certainly appreciate you want to have the content that you love and we want to give you the best we can offer. We truly apologize for the inconvenience; however, changes are made by a local TV station or their parent company and are outside our control. I do hope to see this available in all areas but we would not have any control over programming changes.
Thankyou for taking the time to let us know that MeTV+ (MeTV Two) is now the "STORY" network.
I return home looking for midnight laughs after paying big bucks to fill up my gas tank a few times driving cross country, and find that the THREE STOOGES have been replaced by some all-night series about NAZIS!
It's depressing enough that the Three Stooges were removed. But to have them replaced with a Nazi series is totally sicko.
Anyway, thanks again for taking the time to let us know what happened to MeTV+.
Comcast was supposed to move metv from channel 196 to 1048 in Virginia, Maryland and DC. They took it off of 196, but forgot to put it on 1048. Please correct this asap!

Hello, there @user_03b4e7 thank you so much for reaching out for help on where ME TV has been relocated. From what I can see channel 1048 plans on launching ME TV on 05/09! I would check back in a day or so to see if they have updated their programing and hopefully, they have gotten ME TV launched for you!

@XfinityAmandaB I am an avid METV watcher, especially tonight, I watch all programs from 10 PM to 3AM. I cannot get the channel, it switched over to another program and the scheduled channel I am suppose to change 1048 does not exist???? What’s going on!
Thank you for letting us know @user_359df1. Please allow by end of day to see if that station has moved to the correct channel. We will follow up with you later today to see if it did. Thank you for your patience with this.

Having the same problem. Someone suggested a system refresh several days ago. It worked for 1 day. but then failed again and since. A 2nd refresh had no impact. As a system programmer for 25 years, it seems most likely that the switchover from channel 196 to 1048 was not done properly. Is this going to be fixed any time soon ?
Hello, @user_39df87. Thanks for letting us know it is not working for you either. Are you getting a scrambled picture after tuning to channel 1048 or do you not get channel 1048 at all?
