In Chicago, the Story channel replaced MeTV+ on channel 361. There was a text message displayed on shows all week. The xfinity guide shows MeTV+ on channel 361, but it is still the Decades channel. I liked the shows on MeTV+, but it appears to be gone. Will it return to the xfinity lineup? If not, will the Decades channel lineup appear again on channel 359. I can't tell what Decade show episode is airing.

@gregjgisp Same problem here. 359 says metv+ but it's showing decades shows but the guide displays metv+ shows so I don't what decades shows are on. Comcast has to fix this.

@hgregjgisp. Any current changes are made by the local station and we don't know whether or not a channel will come back until it is announced. Certain changes are only in certain areas and may not apply to you and there may be a technical issue. I refreshed your TV service to see if it helps with the guide. Let me know!

I no longer work for Comcast.

@XfinityEthan

MeTV+ can now be seen in Chicago for free with an antenna on channel 48.4. The network is not currently available on cable or streaming. Please contact your cable provider and ask them to carry MeTV+. Comcast Xfinity viewers, call 1-800-Comcast

Hey! We appreciate the information on the guide information. From time to time, the guide information can reflect differently depending on what the network has decided to air, have you experienced any further issues?

I emailed WCIU TV, which runs all these channels so I'll see if they reply.

MeTV+ is available on Xfinity cable TV in my area.  I'm not sure how long it's been available. I didn't know about it until StoryTV appeared a couple of days ago on another channel that used to be MeTV.

In Chicago, things are a bit cleared up. 359 is now properly listed as Decades. MeTV+ is currently not available.

@andyross When will MeTV Plus be available again?

Adding MeTV+ would involve Comcast ADDING a channel. That takes much more work with agreements, payments and contract changes. Since MeTV+ is just another old TV show channel competing with a billion others, Weigel Broadcasting (WCIU's owner) decided that the unique programming of Story was more competitive and replaced it on Comcast for now.

It's not just Chicago, but probably the same for other markets where the change happened.

For reference, WCIU currently broadcasts 2 HD and 5 SD channels!! That is really pushing the limits of ATSC 1.0 (digital broadcast TV standard.)

With near 1300 channels, and so many channels just repeated in different places , why  don't  they just  return metv+in a different spot? I hate it when they remove a channel that you like, are paying for, and love watching  for some bogus reason.

@andyross Unless I'm mistaken, Comcast didn't carry MeTV+ in my market until they added StoryTV.  Well, maybe it was there before but I didn't realize because I use my own DVR (TiVo) and have the program guide set up such that it only shows channels I receive.  Maybe at some point Comcast added MeTV+ and I simply didn't realize that so I could update my DVR to display the channel.

At any rate, MeTV+ is in my lineup in San Francisco, as is StoryTV and MeTV.  Right after StoryTV was added, though, MeTV went away for about a day, with StoryTV showing on two adjacent channels.  I complained to Comcast and Weigel that even though I could pick up MeTV via an antenna, it wasn't shown on the Comcast channel assigned to it.  The next day the lineup was corrected.

I highly doubt it's a contractual issue given that MeTV+ is still available in some Comcast markets, and that we are talking about an over-the-air channel owned by the same company whose other channels are still being carried by Comcast.  It could be simply that MeTV+ has moved to a different channel in some markets.  I think someone in my area complained that MeTV+ was no longer available in the Standard Definition channel lineup, meaning that if you don't subscribe to a tier that includes High Definition you no longer see the channel.  Another issue to consider is that Comcast has made some channels IPTV (Internet Protocol TV) on the HD feed but left them in QAM (quadrature amplitude modulation, the traditional way cable TV channels have been delivered) on the SD feed, meaning that you either need one of Comcast's boxes to watch the channel in HD or have to watch in SD.  Perhaps MeTV+ is only available in some markets to people with a Comcast box that's compatible with IPTV?

Figuring out which channels you actually receive with your subscription is far more confusing that it needs to be.

In Northern VA, MeTV has moved and MeTV+ has been added, but they're now in a tier I do not get and I do not care to upgrade to. I'm still annoyed when they moved TCM to the sports tier and expected me to give them extra bucks every month just so I can have what I had before.

I know what would happen if I said "well, you're saying TCM cost $8 a month, and you took it away so I'll pay you $8 a month less.

I have an antenna and get MeTV plus in Aurora IL on 48.4 over the air. You can get about 70 channels over the air.

If I go to my account and look at my channel lineup there is no more MeTV+ listed anywhere, it is STORY now where it was.

@SNAKE-PLISSKEN As has been noted, these are all BROADCAST networks carried by a local TV station. Comcast cannot add them on it's own. It can only pass them on if a local TV station carries them. They cannot add them in HD if the local station is only carrying them in SD.

Please bring back the METV+ channel to the Comcast cable Digital Preferred package. We enjoyed many of the programs that were available on this channel, and have missed these programs since METV+ was replaced by the STORY channel

I fear the worst.

In Connecticut we lost MeTV+ two weeks ago. Last night we lost the rest of the WHCT channels, MeTV, Heroes & Icons and Decades.

I think I'll drop my Netflix thru Xfinity and maybe HBO as well.

I live in the DC area. It now seems that MeTV is gone. I watched that station all the time. What is going on? I like their programming.

@user_1381a4 I just found it on channel 1048. It looks like they moved it but the channel lineup seems to be the same.
