TVAPP-00148

I just encountered error code TVAPP-00148 on the Xfinity Stream app on my Samsung TV. Worked fine for prior 6 months. App streams fine on other devices and tvs. Tried turning off/on tv and deleting/installing app on Samsung tv.

@user_r8789o We have identified an issue where customers using Samsung equipment are getting the TVAPP-00148 error. Our engineering team is currently working to investigate what is causing this issue so that we can then provide the fix you need! We don't currently have an ETA or workaround available at this time, but I will continue to monitor this issue and provide any updates I have in this thread once available. https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/xfinity-stream-app/tvapp00148/65a81e375bd1d830a3212f42 Please let me know if this is not the error message you are getting.

I have been unable to access the TV content on my Samsung smart TV for the last 4 days. I can access the content on my phone and IPad without any problems when connected to our home Wi-Fi.  I can access all my recorded content.  All the other Apps on the TV are working normally.  I have signed off and back on; deleted and reloaded the Xfinity Stream app; unplugged and restarted the Wi-Fi router.  No luck and frustrated.  I’m very used to the Xfinity app being glitchy and unreliable but this is a new low.  Ready to change providers…

I have not had service since the middle of a playoff game last weekend while I was hosting a watch party. I have called customer service. I was on with them for 2.5 hours. We did a full system restart with no answers. They sent a technician who was also stumped. We have used the stream app for 2 years. Every other app on the tv is working. We are left with the same error code and no service. TVAPP-01418

Short of switching providers, our neighbors have Verizon and it's working. What should we do?  None seems equipped or empowered to help us

If you contact Xfinity and tell them it’s been down since the 17th, they will put you on a list to be notified when it’s fixed. They also gave me $15 credit on my bill. Also you can use the Xfinity stream app on your phone and click the TV icon at top to airplay to your tv.

@user_0628br Welcome to the Xfinity Forum and thank you for posting your. We definitely want to ensure that you are able to properly enjoy the Xfinity Stream app and the content available to you!

We have identified the issue causing customers using Samsung Smart TVs to receive an error message that says "Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again" (TVAPP-00148). Typically, this error occurs when a video takes more than 30 seconds to playback.

This is not an Xfinity issue; it's a third-party, firmware-related issue that is impacting a subset of Samsung 2021 TV models. We are working together with Samsung to resolve this issue. However, we currently do not have an estimated time of resolution or workaround available at this time, but I will continue to monitor this issue and provide any updates I have in this thread once available.

While our teams work to resolve this issue for you, you should be able to stream content on other eligible devices. I recommend giving those a try to see if you can watch content from there in the meantime.

In the meantime, we will be locking this thread from receiving new replies due to multiple recent Xfinity Forum Guideline violations. If you would like to continue sharing your feedback you can do so here. We appreciate you’re your understanding and thank you for being an Xfinity customer.

Since last week Thursday 1/18/24 one of our Samsung TVs continues to have this app error code 000148. I read in the community forum that this is a known issue.

The tech said they are working with Samsung to resolve the problem.  When is the estimated date to have this fixed?

I was told there was an engineering issue causing live tv to now work in the app on Samsung TV’s. It’s my understanding this would be fixed yesterday. It’s been over a week. Can someone advise me on when this will be resolved?

Same thing happening for me.  Started about a week ago.  Re-installed app, checked for latest Samsung update.  Allows me to view grid and watch dvr but does not allow to watch live tv.  Originally it only was a few channels but now none work.  Works on other TV's.  Not sure what to do next.

I am frustrated like every other customer that owns a Samsung tv.  I don't understand why the on demand content works on the Xfinity app on my Samsung tv, but none of the live streaming channels will work!  I have tried over 20 different live streaming channels and none of them work.  All of my other apps on the TV work fine as well.  I have completely removed the app and reset my Samsung tv, plus I reset the Xfinity TV box connected to my other tv.  I've tried everything and so I believe it is a Comcast Xfinity issue and not my TV!  Please Comcast can you look further into this issue and contact Samsung if you need to... Pleeeeaaaassse help me!!?

There's nothing you can do to fix this. It's up to Comcast, who says they are "working on it".

For some reason I am now not able to watch live TV from my Samsung TV’s. It does however work on my Roku TV. I have reinstalled the app, signed out and into the app but that doesn’t fix the problem.  I use the app on these TV’s because I am not able to get the coax to their locations.  Is this Xfinity’s way of getting me to rent more boxes?

Support also said they were getting lots of calls about it. No way to confirm because cant find any service status webpage. Support siad there is none. And no eta on the fix. I see the app updated on jan 10th so i guess they updated and released without testing.

I am getting code 00148 on my Samsung TV too.  Just spent 2hours with Samsung doing SmartHub and then a factory reset.  Xfinity Stream still doesn't work

  Very frustrating.

It seems that Xfinity is happy blaming Samsung, one of the three largest TV manufacturers, instead of working to resolve the issue. It is enough to make me consider another service where they do not seem to attempt to blackmail you into using their $10 a month 1990s cable boxes for each TV.

Samsung streaming of Xfinity will not work. However screw of same show 2 min later works fine.  Sony does this also on their large tvs. You cannot stream directly with tv.  Now Samsung.
