TVAPP-00148

I just encountered error code TVAPP-00148 on the Xfinity Stream app on my Samsung TV. Worked fine for prior 6 months. App streams fine on other devices and tvs. Tried turning off/on tv and deleting/installing app on Samsung tv.

Absolutely ridiculous that I can't get my Xfinity App to work on my Samsung TV.  Just happened in last 24 hours.  Was working for years.  Tried installing and uninstalling.  Turned TV on and off.  Reset my network.  Nothing worked.  The app is working on my older Samsung TV but not my newer one.  Xfinity customer service sucks.  No solution.

I am having the same issue with my Samsung frame TV's started yesterday morning.  I have a tech here, he has no idea why.  I have to get Xfinity boxes and pay 10/month for each to make the Xfinity service work on the TVs.  Is there someone from Xfinity that can answer the question why the Xfinity Stream app is not compatible with certain Samsung TV's all of a sudden?  These are 2022 Frame TV's, with the software updated.  I have reinstalled and deleted the app ten times, nothing is working to resolve the issue.  Need a fix

I'm having the same issue with my Samsung 4k TV. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Xfinity Stream app. I looked up the error in other forum posts, and it said it was a caching error. But it should have rectified if you uninstall and reinstall since it removes any cache.

I then looked up another post, which says it is an app/connectivity error. I assume that there is a break in their system. I also saw that they updated the app on 01/10/2024. I don't know when Xfinity will rectify this, as it is their problem. The downside is that customer services keep giving a loop around. Also, their "chatbot" doesn't help either.

Very interesting that your issue and my issue began on the same day.

Again very interesting that you are experiencing the same thing.  My older TV is not experiencing the issue but the newer 4K is.

Hi, @user_t8cq8e! Thank you for taking the time out of your day to visit our forums page for help with that error code on your Samsung TV. I use the Stream app on my Samsung TV all the time so I understand the importance of getting this fixed. I am sorry to learn about this experience. We can help. Was the app working on your TV for some time before experiencing that error code? Would you mind providing us with your TV model code, serial number, and software version? Here are the steps below to determine this.

  1. Make sure the Samsung Smart TV is connected to the internet.
  2. Press the Smart Hub button on the Smart Control remote to go to the Samsung Home screen.
  3. Scroll to and select the Settings icon (gear to the right).
  4. Arrow down to Support.
  5. Arrow right, then down, then select About this TV.
  6. From here, they'll see the Model Code, Serial Number, Software Version, etc.

I've seen this be a problem for years from previous forum posts. My TV has worked for 2 years, now I'm getting this error. I added Xfi pods, updated everything, still a disaster. What is the resolution other than changing providers?

I opened a chat that Xfinity Stream live would not work on my Samsung TV.  Many of you joined the chat and added how poor and how broke Xfinity customer service is.

Just saw that the chat has been closed by Xfinity.  Interesting they closed the issue and never resolved the issue.

Now no features on Xfinity Stream work.  I guess it is time to cancel Xfinity.

Having the same issue.  Was working all day yesterday then suddenly TVAPP-00148.  Tried resinstalling app, powering on and off, changing wifi networks, restarting modem/router...nothing working.  Its on a samsung frame tv....i tried a soft reset by unplugging the Samsung box even over night.

There has to be a way to clear the cache...but i dont see an option.

I found a way to clear the cache for xfinity stream app and did another power cycle and still not working.

And Xfinity says NO Network problems!! I have the same problem & guessing Xfinity pushed an update that is causing the problem to TV's only. I am Ok to stream to my ios device, but that is a different app

I am having the same issue on only 1 TV in my house. I can watch dvr and on demand but no live tv.

I called Xfinity technical support. And I agree, it was like talking to the wall. I have absolutely no satisfaction. They cannot tell me what that error code means. I'm not sure how tech savvy these people are, but apparently they're not. I'm going to follow the suggestion of going and using my phone. I have a Samsung TV upstairs that's shooting off the error code, but my LG TV downstairs works perfectly fine. Thanks to the person that suggested streaming from my phone using Bluetooth. I again appreciate everyone that has gave an input on this. I see they've had this problem for more than 3 years. There are comments from 3 years ago about the same error code. You're telling me they can't find a problem with this? I'm not understanding that but I don't work there so. And I don't want to pay $10 a month for a box either.

@user_k8aveg Hello, sorry about the error showing. Is this over a Samsung Tv?

I no longer work for Comcast.

Having the same issue, that's seems to be nationwide,  its really sad...and embarrassing when I have a bunch of people over to watch a football game and it doesn't work.  Especially when it did the day before... Also with how much money a month is spent and I have to spend hours researching, trying to get answers from automated support, that walks around your questions.  Im going to most likely switch to Verizon anyway... Seems like Xfinity doesn't care too much.

Xfinity Stream has stopped working on 2 of 4 Samsung TVs. Xfinity has a MOUNTAIN of problems across many platforms. Their streaming APP is just one. The PROBLEM is NOT with the Samsung TVs. Streaming for OTHER APPS works just fine. But on 2 of the 4 Samsung TVs which are the same model and less than 2 years old, the streaming app has started delivering this ERROR: TVAPP-00148. An update to the App was made on January 10. Then the "you know what" hit the fan.

Xfinity knows of the issue and is twiddling their thumbs. If this is NOT fixed pronto. This customer will take ALL services to another provider.

Someone commented in another thread that if you have a Roku, you can add the Xfinity Stream app as a workaround to watch live TV. I did that and can watch live TV on my Samsung again (it's 2 years old).

It seems that Xfinity is happy blaming Samsung, one of the three largest TV manufacturers, instead of working to resolve the issue. It is enough to make me consider another service where they do not seem to attempt to blackmail you into using their $10 a month 1990s cable boxes for each TV.

Started a week ago. Comcast says it’s a known issue, but still hasn’t bothered fixing it.

I’m having the same exact issue and tech told me it’s a Samsung / Xfinity issue and they have no resolution and don’t know when they will!!!

I have tried everything in this post and the app will still not steam.

the app loads and I can select a show from the guide but I get “Error: TVAPP -00148”

this is on a Samsung TV - the app works on other Samsung TVs in my home

Is there a fix ?

I like everyone with a Samsung TV is experiencing this. My question is, will those of us that went to an Xfinity store and picked up a box so we could watch live TV be credited the cost of the box once this issue is fixed?
