INSP removal???
Why on Earth would xfinity remove INSP network from basic cable and add it to a much more expensive cable package knowing full well it’s mostly the aging among us who enjoyed watching Westerns and such the most? No way am I’m paying more money for shows that are 50 plus years old and that have already made their millions. What a shameful move xfinity. The time is approaching where I need to make xfinity…. EX-finity

Hello @Wildflower3583! We regularly review our channel lineups and sometimes make changes to ensure we're offering a wide variety of content at the best value. As part of those regular reviews, we made the decision to move INSP Network to the Popular TV/Extra package and Entertainment genre pack.
The good news is that you can still watch programming like that found on INSP without changing your TV package. By saying “Westerns” into your Xfinity Voice Remote or searching for “Westerns” On Demand, you can find a wide variety of content at your fingertips.
We offer a broad range of alternative content, such as Pluto, Xumo Play, MeTV and Tubi with our service packages as well.

If you happen live near a metro area. Getting an amplified antenna would be a good investment. I get over 50 over the air channels. where I live. They have no more commercials than found on cable television.

And they move it to a sports channel packagel! Last I checked, INSP was westerns and not sports related. Stupid comcast, and the prices are ridiculously high for no reason with all these additional fees.

I agree with all that is being said about the dropping of INSP. My term was up and now the price went up and I lose a channel that we watch all day long. They can remove stations but the price stays the same.
They should reverse their decision and bring back INSP!!!!!!!!!!🤠🤠🤠

Amen to all of you...Just got off the phone with Comcast customer service (ha-ha), after being hung up on 3X, explaining our package contract included INSP. Our contract does not expire until March, 2024. The only resolution they would offer was for us to subscribe to the new sports package for an additional $9.99 per month. WHAT! So it's okay for them to violate their contract and for we, the customers, too bad. They would not offer any financial adjustment to our bill for not receiving all the channels per their contract but, I could spend even more money to get what was agreed in the contract!
Looking for other alternatives!

Yet another channel (INSP) has been moved to a higher tier package with no reduction in monthly service fee for the package it was formerly in. It's becoming very difficult to justify having Comcast as my cable provider when they continually remove channels from the lineup with no reduction in monthly service fees (I was "invited" to pay $9.95 more per month to get back the channel that was previously part of my lineup!).
As other's have pointed out: moving INSP, a primarily western program channel to a sports line up? Clearly profit was the sole motivation. To suggest any other reason is to be disingenuous. I guess it's time to abandon Comcast after decades of being a customer in favor of streaming and OTA programming. <sigh>

Removing INSP channel to sports package?!?!?
I wasn’t notified. And no I’m not going to sign up for a sports package. I’m a retired senior citizen and already pay a lot now!

The Comcast explanation of why they dropped INSP is a bold faced lie. They know aging baby boomers enjoy watching shows that they loved when they were young. Some snot nosed MBA in management figured he could squeeze another $10.00 a month out of the seniors. I wonder how they sleep at night.

It is simple. They keep moving channels with older content, because the older generaTion has the hardest time cutting the cord. A good chunk of the content is so old it can be streamed free if you can figure it out..,

These greedy jerks take ISNP off basic cable. Cleary only effecting seniors. How low can you go?
How is Xfinity able to remove a channel while you have a contract.

I think it's more insidious than that. They simply monitor what channels people are watching and when they see a low tier plan channel that is highly viewed, they move it to increase revenue. I think the "Sports" package was one of the convenient targets as it was the smallest step up ($9.95/month) cost wise and (hopefully in their eyes), customers would upgrade to retain what they had.
Not many other logical reasons to move an old western programs channel to higher tier plans that already include the basic package channels. How is it "mak(ing) changes to ensure we're offering a wide variety of content at the best value"? Removing INSP from the Basic Cable package did absolutely nothing but just that. Take it away from Basic Cable package subscribers.
The justification is complete nonsense as it offers less variety to existing customers, and *reduces* the value of customer packages while adding nothing to the higher tiers that already included the channel!

My dad was so confused and saddened to see his favorite station was no longer available. I helped him find another solution however I’m disgusted that Xfinity/Comcast is choosing to capitalize off the nostalgia of baby boomers in such a greedy & rather manipulative manner. Shame on you for doing this to your customers, even worse specifically targeting senior citizens (many of which are on fixed incomes.) I’m currently looking into setting up a better service for my parents, as Comcast clearly doesn’t appreciate their “valued customers.” Instead of giving customers what they paid for they plot the most profitable tactics to squeeze more cash out of their pockets. Fantastic customer service… 🙄 smh.
Also, adding INSP (westerns) to the sports package?! Really? What a joke.

I just found out I no longer have INSP, one of my favorite channels, all Westerns. . . How is a western tv show related in any way to sports. . . now comcast wants to know why people are cutting cable. . . . I'm cutting my cable tv on 9/27 as soon as I get rid of my 24 year old tv that I can't stream stuff, and move to streaming on my ROKU, and getting a good antenna to get OTA channels. . . thanks Comcast for nothing. . . you robbers.
