Greetings, @user_6yml6k! I hope your week has been treating you well. Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum. I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with the Xfinity Stream app, but you have definitely come to the right place for assistance.

Can you tell me a little more about what's happening? Does the Xfinity Stream app open on your smart TV, or does it crash right away? Are you able to log in to your account and see content you are subscribed to, or do you get an error when you try to log in? Are you able to access the Xfinity Stream app on other devices, like a smartphone, tablet, or web browser?

We are not indicating any known issues with the application and features. When connected to your In-Home Internet connection, are you also experiencing issues with the Xfinity Stream application on mobile devices such as your phone? The Xfinity Stream App on Samsung televisions would need to be connected to your In-Home Network and unable to use used on other Internet connections.

@user_6yml6k I can understand the frustration and I hope we can find a solution. Do you have any non-Samsung devices you can test on the in-home network and also let me know if your Samsung phone can access the Stream app while off network?

I have the exact same issue as described.  Just started happening today.  All other streaming app on TV work (Netflix, Hulu etc).  I can stream xfinity on my phone and cast it to the TV and it that works but I get a black screen when I try to use or reinstall app directly on 2023 Samsung TV

15 Messages

Could  try deleting the app, then power cycle your Gateway, and try to reinstall the app again?  Also reaching out to customer service directly so they can do a remote reset of your system. You'll probably have to go through the same power cycle reinstall afterwards

@XfinityJanelle I have the same issue. It happened a month ago, nobody could fix it and hours later it was miraculously working and NOW it is not again, black screen with three dots in the top right quadrant.

Hey @user_e75s7t is this also happening for you on a Samsung TV, or Samsung(Android) branded devices specifically? When this happened before, what sort of troublwshooting did you work through?

@XfinityJanelle

I have same issue. I even provided the error code 00148. It’s hard to get a hold of a live agent. The chat feature is worthless at helping. I can cast to my tv from my phone using the app. All my other apps work. This error code came up on Wednesday January  17th. It worked fine previously. I have reset it.

My issue is that the app runs and it plays Saved content and on demand quite well but live tv gives an error message saying that it is having issues with streaming.

I bought my Samsung in 2022.
Just change my xfinity password and streaming plan and no longer can stream. I have repeatedly gotten this error:

Error Code: TVAPP-00195

Yes, I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and the same response.

The last Xfinity agent I spoke with hung up on me. Nice. Incredibly frustrated. No resolution.

I have a new 2023 Frame TV. Additionally the app worked perfectly for 6 months or so, then quit working. This is an Xfinity problem not a T.V problem. Is anyone actually working on a solution? Seems many, many people are having the same problem......

I have the same issue 2021 frame tv, stopped working  1/17, still not working. I was told by Xfinity it is a wide spread issues with Samsungs tvs.

Mine is doing same thing. Worked fine for about a year, then yesterday stopped working. My LG TV works fine with the xfinity app.

Have a 2021 and 2023 Samsung TV and Xfinity Stream app won’t work on either of these TVs.  It worked on both for years on 2021 and months on 2023 TVs. Roku stick is a work-around.  Also works on 2 Sony TV’s.  after 2 different phone techs worked me and even had tech out for 3 hours and he gave up and used our Roku Sticks.   Very annoyed.

No answer Xfinity does not take this seriously.  They ask the same questions over and over, apparently they are unable to scroll up with their mouse to see the past conversations.  Nothing, no support.  [Edited: "Solicitation"]  I've done it before for Xfinity and receive an actual human being calling me back to assist me.  I guess I have to do it again.  [Edited: "Inflammatory"]

Does Xfinity have an answer for this?  It seems all they do is ask the same questions over and over.  My 2022 - yes 2022 not 2017 or old, Samsung is having the same issue.  I've installed, reinstalled the app a couple times.  My other non-Samsungs are working fine.  Yes I restarted my Xfinity network, yes I can connect to other wifi apps.  This is an application issue on the XFINITY Samsung app.  What is the status of this being fixed?  It was working fine yesterday then stopped today.  This happened a few weeks ago as well.  Xfinity needs to fix this issue ASAP.

9 Messages

I had the same problem and purchased a Roku thinking this would fix it but no - all apps worked but xfinity . Call the help desk and was surprised they did fix this. FYI all my other Rokus in the house worked fine with Xfinity Steam. How odd

8 Messages

@user_520d3b Thank you for posting - I also have a 2022 Samsung TV.  NOT a 2017 like the customer service rep kept repeating.  What is the problem here?  It worked yesterday and for 8 months prior - now they’re telling me it’s an issue with my TV and not the app??  I’ve restarted, uninstalled/reinstalled/ rebooted everything possible - nothing works.  Why is Comcast not addressing??

My Samsung TV Xfinity app is not working properly

only on demand not regular tv, I deleted the app and uploaded again and still not working

we keep disconnecting the tv

This seems to be a highly messed up situation. I have a 2022 Samsung Smart TV. All apps work perfectly fine. Can watch on demand programs on the app, but not live tv. Did all previous troubleshooting tips in this thread. What is irritating me is that it was operating perfectly fine just yesterday. I wake up today and issue all day long. Something wrong with the app bottom line. Not buying a Roku or Firestick. Just sad.

Yup , same with me, Its a wide spread issue.

Same issue.  Samsung TV.  Recorded shows work but no live TV will stream.  It's not my router and the TV is connected to my wireless network (which I have re-booted twice).  Frustrating.

Comcast please tell Samsung Smart TV owners with models newer than 2017, that there is an issue with live tv streaming (error: TVAPP-00148). Just be honest. I have not had an issue with the app on the tv since I bought it in 2022.  Now, in past 48 hours, no live tv.

We just bought a new Samsung smart TV two weeks ago. Live TV was working just fine in the app for days and then it stopped working. I can cast live tv from my app on my cell phone to the tv, but cannot use the app on the tv. I get the same error code and used above.  Very frustrating as I spent so much time troubleshooting on my own and with agents for no resolution at all. Seems I am not the only one. This will make us cancel our Xfinity for sure since we obviously cannot use it the way we intend to.

It appears the problem I am experiencing is not an uncommon one based on this lengthy thread.  I have 4 TV's in my house and I just started having a problem with only one after a year of working fine:

TV 1: Samsung TV Model UN65TU7000FXZA: this is a SmartTV with the Xfinity Stream application installed - I can access Xfinity Stream and view the Live TV channel list, however when I select any channel, I get the TVAPP-00148 error.

TV 2: Samsung TV:  this is a Smart TV that is connected to the Xfinity cablebox.  It's the only one connected to the box and it works fine to view the live channels and content. - NO ISSUES

TV 3: Insignia Smart TV: this is a SmartTV with the Xfinity Stream application installed - I can access Xfinity Stream app and also get to all Live TV channels fine - NO ISSUES

TV 4: Visio TV with Roku stick: the Xfinity Stream application is installed on Roku - I can access Xfinity Stream app and also get to all Live TV channels fine - NO ISSUES

I like the hundreds prior to this I’m having the same exact problem with my relatively new Samsung TV. It is a 2021 model and it is a smart TV and the only app that doesn’t work is the Xfinity app. Xfinity was on the phone with me for an hour couldn’t solve it, I had a technician out here for an hour he could find no issues. I have Sam calling me in the morning at 9:30 to walk-through issues, but this seems to be a problem with all of Xfinity subscribers, and it looks like not just Samsung TVs. I think Xfinity needs to solve the app

10 Messages

@user_jk87ic I called corporate in Philadelphia this afternoon. I learned from the customer service rep that this is a nationwide issue between Samsung tvs and the Xfinity streaming app. Comcast is not sure whether it's the app or the tvs that are the problem. They are working on it.  The rep suggested I "cast" live streaming tv from using the xfinity stream app on my phone to the tv until it is fixed. I will try it. But, it does not feel right to be paying for a service we can't use as designed.

Thank you for your feedback and detailed post @user_jk87ic. Our engineering team is aware some Samsung smart TV customers may receive TVApp-00148 errors when attempting to tune to linear channels in the Stream app. And, is working to provide a solution as quickly as possible. Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

I saw a comment from someone that they used their Roku with their Samsung TV as a workaround. I downloaded the Xfinity Stream app to my Roku and I can watch live TV again.

I’ve been getting the same error message for two days now. Only one Samsung smart TV is not streaming live content, tried everything still not working. Went into source and changed from TV to fire stick opened the Xfinity app and all is good. Changed source back to Samsung TV and app does not stream live TV.
