Bluetooth headphones no longer working with Xfinity box, but fine when watching Smart TV

I have two smart TV's, each with an Xfinity cable box. For the past year+ I have paired my Bluetooth headphones (Sony and JBL) via the smart TV settings interface, and they both worked fine on either TV.  When I switched TV Input to the Xfinity cable box, my Bluetooth headphones continued to work with no problem.  Starting yesterday, on both TV's and both sets of headphones, I hear "nothing" when TV Input is through Xfinity box, but they work fine when I'm watching something on my smart TV's.  I've reset both sets of headphones and disconnected both cable boxes, but still no luck. Also, there is no option on the Xfinity Settings menu to connect a Bluetooth device, though as I said, the Bluetooth headphones were working fine for 1+ years until yesterday. Thoughts?

user_do327943 Hi there! Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we are here to help with your TV box and bluetooth issues. Have you by any chance attempted to forget the device on your phone or TV then try to repair? If not give that a try and let us know the results.

thanks, yes I did unpair/forget on the TV but no luck.

A couple of other notes-

  1. When I'm watching TV through the Smart TV interface my headphones work.  When I switch input to HMDI1 (which is where the Xfinity box is connected) the headphones don't work BUT I also have no sound coming out of the TV.  Once I turn the headphones off, I can get the sound coming out of the TV.   And just a reminder ... this was working for well over a year until the other day.
  2. The Xfinity box is model XG2v2-P.  I have a similar setup in another room that does work, but the model is XG1v3

This is definitely leaning towards a TV device issue as you're mentioning the TV is not producing sound when using the headphones but can get sound through the HDMI cable when using the X1 cable box and speakers. We would recommend reaching out to the TV manufacture for assistance. There may have been a firmware update on the TV that was recently updated and potentially needs to be pushed back to the old version. A good way to test the TV specifically is to use the cablebox/headphone combo on another TV/monitor if possible.
