50% dscount offer to existing customer
I got a call from [Edited: "Personal Information"] that I am eligible for a 50% discount on my Xfinity / Comcast account with no changes to my existing service and left the number [Edited: "Personal Information"] to call back. I called the number and was told the offer is for 24 months no conttract and cancellation penalty but I have to prepaid for 6 months at 50% discount from my current monthly service charge this will continue from months 7 to 24. I told the person I talked to that I want something in writting. The conversation ended without him asking where I want the information to be send. Is this a legitimbe offer?

I too got the call today and almost fell for it. the guy knew my name, address, phone number and account number. Even thanked me for being a veteran! First call was a woman from Carolina with a voice mail to call a 844 number. Guy told me the exact same thing as above in user 857c45. Had me log in to my xfinity account to show me my bill was paid and balance was $0.00. If they can change your Comcast billing account, what else can they do? Do I need to worry about them stealing my credit card account that I have listed with Comcast to pay my bill? Stuff like this wouldn't happen if you could get ahold of an actual person on the phone with xfinity. Even tried to chat with them and it took 30-40 minutes for each response! Can't even call a local store to ask about promos, you just get the xfinity phone and message menu! Why can you not talk to an agent?

I already posted that I got this same offer. Just an addition to it. This "company" credited $45 to my account to demonstrate they were legitimate. As many others said, they clearly have access to my Xfinity account. They knew what service I have, my bill amount, how long I was a customer, how much I owed, etc.
Immediately after I figured out it was a scam, I called Comcast. It took me FOREVER to get an agent. I told them what happened and mentioned they had put a $45 credit on my account. They said, there was nothing they could do and just be happy for the credit.
But then I get an email three weeks later from Xfinity saying my account is past due. (I have autopay on.) I logged in and saw the $45 credit was removed and I was charged a bounced check fee of $25. I don't use checks but the credit must have been added somehow as a check. I again had to call them and explain about the scam. It took me forever to explain to them the bounced check was NOT mine. I had told them about the $45 credit the scammers put on and they told me to ignore it. They finally did credit back the $25 check bounce fee. But they should have been nicer about it. It was clear they didn't believe what I was telling them!
So if the scammers put a credit on your account, make sure Xfinity removes it so you are not charged a bounced check charge!
It really seems like Xfinity is not taking this seriously. Clearly there are security issues with the Xfinity's account system if these scammers can get in and see everything about your account. I put on 2-factor authentication and of course changed my password, but still worried.

I also got a call from comcast saying I was qualified for 50% off in order to avail the discount call [Edited: "Personal Information"]. I did call them to get me signed up for 50% promo. After aggreging to pay $300 for 6 months. The customer service person casually said before you disconnect the call, I want to let you know that you will have to sign up for Ebay membership. I was not happy that he didn't give me complete information at the beginning of my call. So, I requested him to cancel the new contract. The guy refused to do so and said I will have to pay $600.00 to get my old contract back.
I regret calling them back. This seems like a scam so be careful what you are signing up for.

I received the same 50% discount offer and could claim the discount by calling them. Call got through my scam shield unfortunately by using a number with call-id Mario [Edited: "Personal Information"]. Annoying these scammers, so persistent.

I just got a call from supposidily Comcast offering me loyalty 50% off for a six-month pre-payment via a pre-paid Target Rebate Card from Target. Then billing would be fixed for 24 months. I assume this is a scam.

We received the same offer in voice message. The person asked me how much I was currently paying. I said to him, "you should know that." He hung up immediately because he didn't know my internet plan after taking my name and address. This is fraud.

I received a call saying eligible for 50% discount for 36 months, but has to pay 6 months up front using either a Target credit card or Target gift card. This is a scam.

I just received a similar call from [Edited: "Personal Information"]. He asked me what my current monthly bill is. I said, well you can look it up as you are from Comcast/Xfinity. The offer was to pay 8 months in an up front payment and then $159.99/month flat rate. A total scam. I hung up after telling him that he was a total slim ball scammer.

Just got the same call. Didn't return the phone call just 'cause I wanted to double check online if this was for real, and here I am. So glad I saw this post. [Edited: "Personal Information"] .
So now we all know, let's see if the auto-review of the post will delete the numbers as well
