I wanted to record the new season of the FBI and when I pressed guide with my remote and chose cbs and paged until I found the program it showed to be airing at 5PM rather that 8PM.

Note: This comment was created from a merged conversation originally titled why do some channels show the wrong time on my tv channel guide

The same thing has happened to me. I just got off the phone with xfinity and they are looking into it. When I set it up to record the new season of the FBI's it recorded the local and national news instead starting a 5pm local time.

@user_50cdda That is exactly what happened.   And also Fox Murder in a Small Town is off by an hour and when I set up to record it I saw accused instead.

Hello user_6618cf, that would be pretty annoying to deal with, especially when you're trying to relax and enjoy your shows. I want to make sure we're on the same page and work on this from the right angle to start. Is the guide showing the correct series times? Or are your recordings and guide now displaying the correct times?

I'm having the same issue and can't find the answer anywhere. All three FBI shows are wrong in the guide, with 'to be announced' showing where the shows should be (8:00, 9:00, 10:00). I was hoping that it was a one time glitch (last week), but the same thing is happening today. Same with Murder in a Small Town.

All FBI Shows are recording at the wrong time in our DVR!!  It’s recording the news instead of the episodes.

Came here to say the same

thing. FBI all recorded 3 hours early last week and this week.  And murder in a small town recorded accused.

the guide has 107 (cbs) schedule saying “to be announced” all night.

get it together xfinity.

This same thing is happening to me. The FBI show on the xfinity guide shows it starts at 4:59 pm pacific time. But what is actually showing at that time is the local news. The FBI Most Wanted show on the xfinity guide that it starts at 6:59 pm pacific time but what records is the news and then ET. I have missed the first two episodes of both shows. When will this be fixed!!

Has anyone found a fix for this? I have the same issue!

3 Messages

@podmom sort of, but no. If you go to the schedule you can set the TBA to record (but only by specific date - not ongoing).

So I have "To Be Announced" recording from 7:59pm - 11:01pm all in one chunk.

For the Fox mix up with Murder in A Small Town & The Accused, I just set both to record & I'll see what happens.

I came on here to post about the exact same thing.  I first noticed it last week.  And then it happened again this week.  I checked for next week and the same thing is going to happen there unless it gets fixed.  I hope that this isn't a [Edited: Language] thing like the "Smart Resume" that has been off a minute for the past 3-4 years.  They just can't seem to fix that.

margene1636, Thank you for reaching out to Xfinity Support. From what I'm seeing, this issue has been fixed. Please let us know if you are still having issues with it. As far as the Smart Resume, what I do is use the page-up button once after it starts playing and it will advance 30 seconds to the perfect spot in most cases. CBS is the one channel that it is a little tricky on as far as I can tell.

I'm having problems with recordings of Jeopardy on Tuesday nights from ABC (same with several other subscribers in the area).  Monday has incorrect program guide information for Jeopardy.  Several weeks ago, it was saying TBA and missing Monday, but now Monday shows the same content identifier as Tuesday which causes the DVR to record Monday as a new episode but skip Tuesday because it thinks that Tuesday is a repeat of Monday.  What's the deal here?

Hey there, moomaws, thanks for reaching out through Xfinity Forums regarding your DVR recordings. I know I rely on my DVR services as I record all my favorite shows to watch later when I have time. I understand wanting to ensure that your favorite shows are being recorded! Are you only having issues with Jeopardy? Have you tried restarting the box to see if that helps with the recording issues?

@moomaws I’m having the same problem. I’ve called, I’ve chatted, I’ve emailed, but still can’t get it corrected. The problem is the episode numbers. Monday’s episode number is the same as Tuesday’s episode number so my DVR is skipping Tuesday because it thinks it’s a repeat. It’s Monday’s episode number that is wrong……Monday does not follow Friday’s episode number, it skips a number.

I think either Xfinity or ABC has an issue with their programming code. IT needs to probably make a minor fix and reload the episodes……..But, I’ve looked ahead a few weeks, and the episode numbers are still wrong.  Very frustrating when you are trying to DVR programs to watch later.

Same here is Fox & CBS for me. Don't think its the Network since the schedule my friend uses on Youtube TV is fine. This begin one the new shows started beginning of October. i hope this gets fixed one day or doesn't pay to have a DVR.

@user_cdab5j, thank you for your comment on this post. Due to one being sent via Internet Protocol and the other via broadcast, it is very common for an issue on one platform to not be seen on the other. Unfortunately, that means it is not a very good indication of what the root cause is.

As far as updates go, we have designated the CBS guide data listed as a known issue now. This has been specifically designated as the Seattle Market. You can send a DM to Xfinity Support. That will allow us to troubleshoot the problem and then link it to the existing known issue. We must do this through individual accounts as that helps us collect important information like affected firmware versions, locations, box types, and more.

Here are the detailed steps to direct message us:

• Click "Sign In" if necessary
•Click the "Direct Message” icon (upper right corner of this page) or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
•Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
•Type "Xfinity Support" in the to line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list
•Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
•Press Enter to send your message

Hello, @user_0hufnt! Thank you for leaving a comment with you shared concerns. To set an Xfinity DVR recording to only record new episodes, you can do the following:

  1. Press the Guide button on your remote
  2. Select a program and press OK
  3. Highlight Record and press OK
  4. Highlight All future episodes and press OK
  5. Select Record to record only new episodes

You can also change the recording options for a series by going to Menu > Saved > Scheduled and selecting the recording. Then, choose Record Options, Modify, and All Episodes.

You can also schedule a recording using the Xfinity Stream app. Please let me know if this helps, or if the issues persists. Our Digital Care Team is awesome to work with, and we'll always do whatever we can to help!

If you had noticed lately, the networks have been changing shows by moving to new times or dates, replacing shows with new ones.

Information supplied to Comcast in different service areas may be incorrect. Not much Comcast can help with that.
