FYI. My other thread on this was locked for some reason with no resolution. However, this week they updated the boxes to automatically select the best video resolution setting available.
This is an issue if your box thinks your TV is 4k and it is not for example. Advanced repair contacted me and there is now a setting in General Settings to lock the resolution.
They had many calls on it. It was causing my picture to blank out everytime turned the TV off and on.
If you prefer a certain resolution then you should turn this to on.
It was locked before it was marked solved. None the less, this is an issue for older TVs or people using hdmi to dvi or hdmi extenders.

We recommend modifying the resolution on your Xfinity television box. You can do so by pressing the following button sequence on your Xfinity television remote, “exit, exit, exit, 720”.
