Tvapp-00500 error code

I was on the phone with support for OVER and hour.  And they could not figure out why my xfinity stream, which I've had for 8 months, was not working.  After numerous failed attempts they told me to give them another hour so thru could run diagnostics.  They then sent me a text and said everything should be working fine now.  NOPE.  Still  not working.  They even had me delete the xfinity stream app, re-install and still.not working.  It's giving me the error code TVAPP-00500  

This has been an ongoing issue and it's unacceptable at this point.  

I pay for the "fastest" internet and the internet barely works in my house.  I harely get wifi anywhere in my home.  I have been complaining about slow wifi for years and now during the diagnostic they say they see there matly ne a connectivity issue with my modem.  

This is ridiculous and I've been lied to for years now.

Hello user_9j7uei! I'm sorry for the trouble you are having with the Xfinity Steam app. I rely on the app for most of the TV's in my home and know it's vital! I would love to help out. Are you seeing the Tvapp-00500 error when you sign in to the Xfinity Stream app? What type of device are you using? A Streaming stick, Smart TV? Are you able to access https://www.xfinity.com/stream/ through a browser?

It and others are all about a technical hostility of Xfinity stream for Roku.  We all wish they would fix this.  Get some decent programmers, Comcast, because the Roku delivery is far better than the Xfinity stream alone.

Still having issues with xfinity app on my roku TV still get the code tvapp-00500 and I did everything the rep said to do and still unable to stream. This is ridiculous for a company so big and charges outrageous amounts of money for service and still can't figure out why a tvapp-00500 error is happening and can't fix it is beyond me. Why have something you can't fix for your customers.

@user_jq8ulv Thank you for sharing the trouble you have had with the Xfintiy Stream app on your roku TV. I'm sorry for the trouble and that we have not fixed it for you yet. If our initial troubleshooting did not help, a repair ticket should have been created for the repair team to investigate and work with the app team to find the correct resolution. We would love to help out and make sure this is corrected so that you can view your programming again. Do you happen to have another device that can access the Xfinity Stream app. Like a tablet or smartphone? If so, I would like to see if that device is always displaying an error. This will help me know if it's an issue with the entitlements on the account, or the app version.

Are you using a Roku device that is having this error, and is this issue isolated? If you have not already can you uninstall the app, reboot your device, and reinstall the app to see if it helps?

I’m having the same issue.  I deleted then reinstalled the app.  I’m getting the TVAPP-00500 error message.   How do we resolve it?

Wish I could get a live body to talk to I have a 65" Roku Smart TV and installed the xfinity stream app, went through setup but when I get to watch live TV and select the channel guide it always gives me the TVAPP-00500 error message too.  No help at all is available.  The TV is updated, have unistalled and reinstalled the app several times but keep getting this error.  When I connect my XUMO streambox all is well but I should not have to pay additional for something that should be included with my service.

I am also having the same issue with the same error message tvapp-00500 I recently switched to xfinity and I am amazed at the fact you cannot call and speak to a person it’s all automated help which is not working this is extremely frustrating I will have to go back to Verizon

Having the same exact problem and it started last night. No problem with my bedroom app just the living room app.

They obviously know there is a problem because after about an hour on the phone the person says we will have to send this to my advanced team to call you back and the she gives me a $25 credit for my troubles. I don’t want the credit I want my streaming service to work not a discount on a service that is not working. This is frustrating !!!!

@XfinityAldrik​  no one has reached out to me and i am very frustrated with this and to see the amount of others with the same issue is even more frustrating. Why can I not call and speak to a person to resolve this. The only consistent thing with xfinity is the bill?

Stream app is giving me a TVAPP-00500. I’ve logged out and logged back in. I’ve reset my tv. I deleted the app and reinstalled it.

It is the best resource to manage the account and service online when we are not available. It is my favorite as I can check the service health, and also reboot the wifi for dinner time. That ensures the kids come to eat, and that makes me very happy. Here is a link that I found for you to make it easy to use https://www.xfinity.com/xfinityassistant/. I love the Stream app, and have it on my phone cause the kids hog the TV. It allows me to keep up with my shows. How is the connection health to that TV? Does it have a healthy and fast internet connection?

Most of my X1 system went down a week and a half ago.  Techs out here twice.  Fixed some issues.  Then the Roku errored  out with the TVAPP-00500 error.  It eas working then the guys with the bucket trucks came to try to fix outside hardware even a ways upstream from our house.  This all ended with the team leaving and then getting the error message on Toku along with other error messages.  Everything worked fine a week and a half ago then it all started falling apart… freezing, black screens, error messages.  We pay way too much for this service to be this poor.
