My remote app has stopped working on my iPad.  All software updated.  Forum says to uninstall and reinstall, but Xfinity remote app no longer listed in App Store.  Has this been discontinued?  App still on device, but no content.  Favorite channels only tab of four that is populating.  Line up blank.  Search tab blank, etc.

So I see there is the new Xfinity Stream app,  has all the old features of the remote app, but without the remote capabilities.  What a step backwards.  So you need to use the stream app for the lineup guide, then use physical remote to change channel. No I don’t want to watch TV on my iPad.  Hate this!  Bring the remote app back. Mine won’t synch with either of my Samsung TVs.

Hi @user_3637de user_3637de -

Hi All -

The Xfinity TV Remote App is no longer available. If you still have it on your device, you may see missing content, blank screens, error messages, and/or information about upgrading to X1 service (even if you have X1), depending on which operating system your phone uses and which functions you attempt to use.

The good news is that almost all of the content and functionality in the Xfinity TV Remote App for scheduling DVR Recordings, Viewing Program listings and more has been incorporated into the Xfinity Stream App.

If you are looking for the ability to control your TV via a mobile device, this functionality is available by using our Web Remote.  Just access http://remote.xfinity.com on your phone, tablet, or computer's web browser (such as Chrome, Safari, or Edge).

If you'd like to create a shortcut on your Apple iOS or Android mobile device, I have provided some instructions below, which may vary a bit depending on the device you're using.

Creating a shortcut on an iPhone or iPad

  1. Launch Safari on your ‌iPhone‌ or ‌iPad‌.
  2. Navigate to remote.xfinity.com
  3. Log in with your username and password. If you wish, check the box to "Stay Signed In."
  4. If prompted, choose the TV Box you'd like to control
  5. Tap the Share icon (the square with an arrow pointing out of it) at the bottom of the screen.
  6. Scroll down to the list of actions and tap Add to Home Screen.
  7. Name the Shortcut and tap Add. You should now have an icon that you can tap to access the web remote quickl!

Creating a shortcut on an Android phone using Chrome

  1. Launch Chrome app.
  2. Navigate to remote.xfinity.com
  3. Type your username and password. If you wish, check the box to "Stay Signed In." to make it faster to access next time
  4. Tap Menu icon (3 dots in upper right-hand corner) and tap Add to home screen.
  5. Click Install as an App or Create Shortcut and follow the prompts to Install or Save.
  6. You should now have an icon that you can tap to access your web remote quickly.

I hope this helps!

Same problem. Is Xfinity dropping this application? It is important to me. Another reason to inch closer to YouTube TV...

So with the TV Remote app no longer working I cannot access anything on my cloud DVR. I see the programs saved but I cannot play them or delete them. The Xfinity Stream app does not help because it only lists the most recent 10 or so recordings and I have 40 more on the cloud. How do I access them? They are hidden.

We need the Xfinity tv remote app. It was working great for years and now Xfinity removed it and I am told there is not a replacement. My disabled husband can no longer control our cable box/ tv. Who does that? Horrible.
