DVR & TV Issue

Xfinity recently removed the filter option that allowed DVR recordings to be separated by TV or device. Now, each DVR/TV shows its own recordings, but on my TV, I see all recordings from every device in the house. I now have to scroll through 30–40 recordings from other TVs. How can I set it so that only my recordings appear on my TV?

Howdy user_unucwu, we do have some filtering options for the in home DVR functionality. I included those options here below.

  • By Device: While Xfinity has removed the ability to separate recordings by device, each DVR/TV shows its own recordings. You can still manage and view your recordings on the specific device you are using.

  • Sorting: You can sort your recordings by "Most Recent" or "A-Z".

  • Prioritization: You can prioritize recordings for specific shows to ensure they are recorded even if space is limited.

That does not resolve my issue. My device/TV is displaying not only my recordings and scheduled shows, but also those from everyone else’s devices/TVs in the household. This problem is only occurring on my device—no one else is experiencing it.

Are the other devices' companion boxes or dedicated DVR's with their own onboard storage? The primary box would show you the whole catalog of recordings, but a companion would traditionally just show its own designated recordings. We have removed the ability to separate recordings by device, each DVR/TV shows its own recordings.

This is terrible! This mean if I want to see only my shows, I have to rent another slave box and not use the primary box. This is a horrendous change that seems like a greedy money grab.

@XfinityThomasB

It’s been nearly a month since Xfinity removed the preferred filters that many customers appreciated. Up until two days ago, each device still displayed only its own recordings. However, my device/TV suddenly started showing all recordings from every device. My DVR is not the primary DVR, so I’m confused why this change happened — and why it occurred so unexpectedly in the middle of the afternoon. Could you please explain why this change took place and how to correct it?

Thanks for confirming those details, user_unucwu. I truly appreciate you providing that feedback. Are you only having that issue with one of your box? Have you tried rebooting the box to see if that helps with the issue.
