Mark Underground Cable

I need the underground cable marked for my landscaper who will be doing some digging and edging around the house.

Hi there! Great question, and we’re glad you checked before any digging, that’s always the safest move.

For marking underground lines, you’ll want to contact 811 (Call Before You Dig). That’s a free nationwide service that notifies all utility providers, including Xfinity, to come out and mark their lines on your property.

You can either call 811 or submit a request online at Call 811. Once the request is submitted, technicians will come out and mark the lines, usually within a few business days.

We definitely recommend doing this before any digging or landscaping to avoid damage and keep everyone safe. Let us know if you have any questions along the way!

The concern is not "accessibility / disability" help related............ Topic moved here to the proper help section.

I called 811 to have my line marked. I got an email from Comcast’s saying there are no lines

we know there are lines and need them marked. Who do I call?

Greetings @user_hvzt8t, and thanks for posting your question to the Xfinity forums, I hope this message finds you well. It is possible that there are lines that are buried in your yard, but if you called 811 and were told that there are no Comcast lines, then it is possible that there are some from another provider.

I am getting irrigation installed at my home and submitted a request with 811 and comcast to locate buried lines. Comcast promptly closed the case "No conflict" we know for fac that there are buried lines on the property.  I filed a second notice with 811 and called comcast directly.  Comcast sent out a technician who showed up at my home ready to install and setup my new service??? This is ridiculous.

I work from home and cant be without internet should the irrigation contractor cut a line on accident because comcast didn't mark them.
