Xfinity charging for INSP

I just received an email from INSP that Xfinity is going to charge $10 for INSP even though INSP doesn’t charge Xfinity for their programming. I don’t want that to happen. Why would Xfinity do that?

[Edited: "Inflammatory"]. So before they remove it they will try charging $10 a month to bring up

the margin since it has an enthusiastic small core audience. Pure and simple.

Luckily there are many ways to watch Gunsmoke and Rawhide.

Thanks but no thanks. you made your business decision and I will make mine.

@billmich88888 dude you have sent out 833 messages. You work for xfinity. It’s obvious. Either that or you need a job. This channel has a small core audience. Not big enough to charge big advertising dollars because it reaches 70 yr olds. So your manager thinks ‘hmmm core audience. Maybe they will pay us $10 a month for shows they can get in other ways? We need to get that margin up.  $10 a month plus advertising…hmmmm’

cheers

That’s sweet. Getting teary eyed. Say hi to Xfinity management.

Charging for INSP is simply a result of the content. Westerns like gunsmoke and Rio bravo attract an older white demographic. Prob 60+. Think Fox News. This makes it difficult to sell advertising on the channel. That’s why you see a lot of 1-800 advertisers. This means the profitability is a lot lower than other channels. So.

it has a core audience however. Xfinity is betting you will pay $10 a month for it thereby making up the difference.

I am not angry. It’s business. I am just moving on to where I can receive it without paying $10 a month extra. That’s my business decision. Everyone needs to make money.

cheers and good luck.

Now that you took INSP from our package, what are you replacing it with?  If you are not replacing it then my bill should go down

I only went with Xfinity because INSP was in their lineup I have a 91-year-old mother and that is the only station out of the 140 something stations I pay for that she watches I have all of my phones TV Internet with Xfinity I am now looking for a new provider. There is no way I'm going to pay more than I am already paying, but this is a necessary channel in my lineup.

Hate that you have to pay for another package and not use any other channels with that package because I don't want the sports

Xfinity Corp. To now charge current customers for the INSP channel is ridiculous and unacceptable!! This channel is for your older generation, and to add it to a package now is just crazy!! The new generations do not watch old westerns, they know nothing about Marshal Dillion, Ms.Kitty, Festus, Doc, the wagon train, the McCains. Micah or the ponderosa!! We want our FREE INSP channel back, or some of us will find other ways to watch it for FREE, if it means cutting the xfinity cable cord, and getting our children or grandchildren to show us how to install and watch it on a  fire stick!! Most of us are retired now, and are on a fixed income, but yet you want to charge us to watch old tv western shows!! You are a multi-billion dollar company that can afford to keep the INSP channel free!! YOU ALREADY OVERCHARGE YOUR CUSTOMERS ANYWAY!! Not to mention, you are not the only cable company in town!! Verizon and T-mobile are offering  deals at this time, which could also another option for some of us to consider!!👀👀👀👀

Well your children are young folks with good taste in television shows!! If we already had the channel included in our package, then same should still be available to us!! Older people just like everyone else should get the service that we paid, and signed a contract for!! I am not hiding from you or anyone else!! You responded to my comment, and don’t agree with it so move on!!

I have the 185+ Ultimate TV package and it is supposed to include INSP, but that channel is now saying I need a subscription. But when I go on the app, it says it's included. Help!

The INSP channel has been moved to our More Sports & Entertainment package. If you are subscribed to that package then you will notice the channel is available to you watch via your Xfinity television box or Xfinity Stream app/website. You can find all the channels that are currently available to you via your television packages, found here.

If you are currently subscribed you can simply say "INSP" into your voice remote to tune into that channel directly. If you would like to add the More Sports & Entertainment package to your current television package you can do so here

Why on earth would Xfinity put INSP with a sports package. They are 2 different things westerns and sports. More expensive package too. As if we don't pay enough already. Certain shows you can't get on demand. Tried it. It would be nice for once to focus on the elderly who like watching that programming. What about those on a fixed budget.

My INSP channel resumed this weekend.  But now it’s off again and says I need a subscription.  I don’t need extra charges to go with extra sports channels in order to get it.  I’m a senior & can’t afford it.  I’m angry!!

I’m trying to watch INSP or channel 223.  It returned this weekend, but now it’s back to saying that it’s a subscription channel.  Why is a channel with western shows in the same group as sports?  I don’t need the sports channels.  I’m a senior & retired.  Please bring back the INSP channel

Thank you for the clarification @Larkat519! The INSP channel moved to the More Sports & Entertainment Package for most areas. We regularly evaluate our channel lineups and sometimes make changes to ensure we're offering a wide variety of content at the best value. As part of those regular reviews, we decided to move INSP to these packages. The good news is that you can still watch similar programming without changing your TV package. By saying “Westerns” into your Xfinity Voice Remote or searching for “Westerns” On Demand, you can find a wide variety of content at your fingertips.

I had gone on vacation and came home tired and ready to relax. I turned to INSP the channel I watch 90% of the time and it was gone. I thought I paid the highest price for my cable and things keep going away which I had all channels. I’m truly upset with your decision to take away another channel that I enjoyed so much. Shame on you Xfinity for the removal of my favorite channel. I have been with you for many many years but now may have to look for a better provider. Truly saddened.

We agree!!  INSP is one of our favorite channels.  We even have our younger grandkids watching all the cowboy shows we used to watch.  There are other topics as well, but we are really disappointed that you take away channels that we enjoy so much!  Why was INSP deleted from our cable package?  We have also been an Xfinity customer for many years and we are upset that we can’t get it in our cable package anymore.  How much are you charging for INSP to be added back into our cable channels??
