How to add mariners tv to our xfinity package

I’m in market, and have xfinity. Signing up for mariners tv would be adding a separate streaming service which we don’t want to do

user_xyagmg We don't have any information on if Xfinity will be caring Mariners.TV. More details will be released closer to opening day.

@XfinityVictor I have Xfinity X1 premier Double play. I watched Mariners games on Root Sports last year. Will I be able to watch Mariners TV on channel 1261?

Hi @tgscript, please keep in mind that using all caps is a violation of the community forums guidelines. You can view the community forums guidelines by clicking here. Root Sports Northwest shutdown in September 2025 which was how in-market Mariners fans would catch games with Xfinity. At this time there is currently not a way for in-market Mariners fans to watch home games, but it does look like Mariners.TV was released just to fill that hole. Out of market Mariners fans can subscribe to MLB extra innings, do you happen to know which category you fall into?

We appreciate the information @BigVibe. You can learn more by visiting the 'Watch Mariners Baseball via streaming, cable and satellite with Mariners TV!' support article. You can also find out which platform you can watch each game by visiting the Mariners Schedule

There is suppose to be a Mariners TV channel operated by MLB similar to the San Diego Padres channel. The channel probable won't start until the regular season. According to the Mariners an announcement which cable and satellite companies will carry the channel will be made prior to that depending on coming to carriage agreements with the various companies and negotiations for carriage agreements can be difficult. Xfinity has been known to be difficult in those negotiations.

I see on channel 629 I can watch pre-season games.  I hope it continues through the regular season.

1261 - but not clear what package you need to have to watch.

Exactly!  Friends who subscribed to root sports last year have the new channel appearing in their lineup, and should be able to watch the game tonight.
I can't find any place in my Xfinity account that shows which "tier" I have, and how to upgrade.

I'm going to walk into the Xfinity store today and see if I can do it there.

@user_4inbtg,

Hi there! Thanks for taking the time out of your day to reach out. That makes sense, and I’m glad you’re checking today. As a fellow baseball fan, I totally understand how important it is to be able to watch your favorite team play. You’ve reached the right team. Our social media specialists are experts and happy to help with channel lineup and tier questions like this. The channel to see those Mariners is 1261. One great way to check the channel tier you have is by visiting this great channel lineup link here. That said, stopping by the Xfinity store is also a good move. If you want, we can also help look it up on our end.  To get started, please send us a direct message with your first/last name and full address. You can start by clicking the "direct message" icon in the upper right page of our forum page. Once you click on that, input our shared handle, Xfinity Support to send us a direct message.

We checked 1261 and it says it is not available. My husband is on the phone with Xfinity now-for 30 minutes and nothing resolved. Why does this have to be so difficult?
now they say we have to rent a tv box for 15$ a month. We do not need it for anything else we do. $$$$$$ to them.  Very unhappy and may do Mariners Tv.

Comcast pays networks and station owners for the ability to deliver their programming to its customers. And Comcast negotiates deals to bring our customers the best value for the content they love. For more information, see xfinity.com/howitworks Several MLB Teams games are no longer available on Xfinity TV. Xfinity is in discussions with MLB to get these games back on Xfinity TV.

Good afternoon user_2781gu. Have you already attempted to use your Xfinity Voice remote to say Mariners into it? That will bring up any available content pertaining to the team, such as games that are on, or upcoming, or channels that may be airing their games. Please let me know if this helps.

It just shows up as SEAM (Seattle Mariners Network).    It also mentions it here:  https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/mlb-viewing-options

Thank you for providing that info and the link. It does mention that SEAM is finally available to our customers again, it also states some troubleshooting steps that you may find helpful:

If the channel you want isn’t on the on-screen guide, try restarting your TV Box.
If that doesn’t work, you’ll need to have an agent refresh your account. Reach out with Xfinity Assistant.
It may be that you need to swap your Xfinity equipment and/or change your TV package to include TV Premium or Ultimate TV.

Please try those, and if they do not work, we will try next steps.

I tried to watch the Mariners game today but channel 1261 says that the next game I can watch is Saturday. They are playing as I type this... The email which says the Mariners games are included in my subscription and to go to channel 1261 says I can also watch on xfinity.com/stream. When I go there, I'm prompted to subscribe to 'Friday Night Baseball' on Apple TV. It's looking like we're only going to be able to watch a subset of the Mariners games this season. Is there any way I can get a schedule of the games that we will be able to watch?

Usually, when a game is picked up by a national partner like Apple or Peacock as an exclusive national broadcast, it is blacked out on local channels, MyAccountXZ.
