What is an Error ftde.xact.3305.403, and how do I fix it?

This started yesterday on Chrome. I cleared all site data, Double checked that Javascript and Flash was on on the site, used the X1 support tool that can only reboot the device, (it should have options to update firmware, give connection information, tell you system information such as its running temperature and more) And I have tested this on multiple browsers and with different operating systems. It is only an issue on Chrome, but on all operating systems minus IOS or Android... I didn't test those as we have the Xfinity APP. I have read that the issue might be outdated firmware, but the only way to fix that is to call support... but I'm an introvert with anxiety and would have to ask my roommate to call for me. Again they need to update thing on the site, they need to add the ability to live chat an agent... but I would have to prewrite what I wanted to say. Any help would be great.xfimnitystream.png

All,

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that you are experiencing. Xfinity Stream error codes '3305' typically occur when there is not a steady connection to the Internet. Please check your Internet connection is strong and steady and try again.

Additionally, Recently Google Chrome released an update, Chrome 76. In order to keep using Xfinity Stream with this latest update, you must enable Flash on your Google Chrome Browser. For full directions on how to complete this change, please see here: https://forums.xfinity.com/t5/XFINITY-Stream-Website/Xfinity-Stream-How-To-Enable-Flash-on-a-Google-Chrome/td-p/3247446

If you have already completed these updates, have verified your Internet network connection or are not using Google Chrome please share all browser version and device details here so we can further assist.

Anyways, any help?

My Win10 computer had a major update yesterday but I was still able to use it to bring up recordings; did you google the error?

Are you getting this in Chrome to? It works in other browsers for me on PC, but I'm using ChromeOS on my TV, so kinda a big issue. I'm wondering if it started with an update to Chrome or an issue with Xfinity's stream use of flash on Chrome. I even tried removing all addons.

My problem is on a Mac. Why doesn't dsomeone from Xfinity monitor these forums and provide answers? I am sure that calling 1-800-comcast will not resukt in a fix.

you found a browser that works on your mac (chrome). if you can not locate the issue with Edge you might try their forum. could be permissions, installed version ifa allowed of flash, among others. chrome includes its own built-in flash that is safely sandboxed.

The error of Error ftde.xact.3305.403 seems to occur on all operating system in Chrome... yes I see it on my Macbook as well as my PC running Windows 10 and Ubuntu Linux and also on ChromeOS on my TV.

Calling might work but I don't think I can (anxiety). They really need to have a live agent on the chat tool rather than a bot and should add a bug report tool... Like every one else does!

ChromeOS has always worked and was supported and only recently had an issue. I'm not sure what you mean by "out of date" all are fully updated. Linux isn't supported (true) but with some work it can work, though do to needing a patch for the kernel and some third party software... I don't recommend it. Mac has always been supported as well but Safari isn't so you have to use a different browser. I only have to use Windows for two applications for my work, else I would just use Linux or MacOS, especially since they started using tiles. But it doesn't really matter, I have proven that this very new error is an issue that that effects Chrome in all instance.

If the tech team at Xfinity can't fix this, I'm not surprised as they can't seem to get streaming to work outside of the apps except to a small number of Windows only select browsers. They need to build more universally driven encoded streaming software like Netflix, Hulu, Youtube and even some competitors in the cable business do. Ultimately if the user gets an error and they don't have the necessary tools to direct people to a solution, they would be better off not even giving an error code in the first place. But When I deliver code to be deployed, it better work on any OS, of any version, and if it requires a browser or to be implemented on a website it has to work on all browsers and versions. But it doesn't look like Xfinity employs any of the tech team to either this forum or the stupid chat bot on the support site, and I'm not able to call them in hopes of are response, so when my contract is up I'm not renewing.

DRM currently prohibits TV interface directly to chrome (TV chromeOS). only the roku TV and some samsung TVs are allowed to run the stream TV beta app.

Doesn't work on my sisters Chromebook either, so it would appear that DRM currently prohibits all ChromeOS devices... but it doesn't work and gives the same error xact.3305.403 on every OS and device running Chrome browser. Only Chrome browser is effected by this error. My guess is that that error has nothing to do with the hardware it's on, especially given that it started only four days ago. It must be something that was implement by Xfinity servers or a Chrome update issue. Chrome has been trying to faze out flash, so maybe they are trying to pass the video to html5 or something. But it matters not as I will be switching to a different cable provider, as only Xfinity is so pi55y about hardware and doesn't offer support for anything outside Windows Edge: AKA the worst browser ever made including Netscape. It's such a shame that they don't have a tech team that knows how to deliver streaming content to everyone, like every other service online today.

Streaming via a web page is different than streaming via Roku. If Comcast told us what the message meant, we might make some progress.
