any room dvr service
Is this service being eliminated or not for existing X1 customers? I'm getting the impression that when my contract ends and I try to renegotiate it, I will lose this feature and be forced to watch inferior Cloud versions. No one on this board in authority has yet to clarify this. And if it is eliminated, what does that mean for me? If I record a show in the living room, that is were I have to watch it?
How do I set a recording in another room? How would this be a better customer experience for me?

Here is my situation... My contract expires Jan 3. Evidently all the packages have changed and don't include any premium movie channels-all ala carte. I was told a comparable package to my current
X1 Premier Triple Play-- the Extreme, Preferred, Xfinity Triple-Play does not have anyroom dvr service. Was I told wrong?

That's not very reassuring:). I was offered an X1 package that doesn't include anyroom DVR service, which contradicts what Comcast Ted said:
Apologies for any confusion we may have caused, the message that appeared on the cable statements was not as clear as it could have been.
To clarify - this does not impact our X1 customers at all.
This only impacts our legacy video AnyRoom DVR customers. This feature will no longer be available for new subscriptions or to add to your existing non-X1 service after 12/20/19.

I don't think they even bother saying anyroom now since it is assumed with all X1 equipment. How could the boxes with no tuners possibly work otherwise?
The new packages may not include DVR service though. That is an extra $10/month fee not tied to a specific box, but each box is only $5/month, even the one that is the physical DVR. At least that's the way it works now in my area.

Would it be more reassuring if a fellow customer would comment on what was offered to you? Let an OE look at your account and answer your original question. The whole point of how X1 works is being able to record from multiple boxes.

All I know is my bill is going up $60 to over $300. When I asked about "anyroom DVR service" concerning the plan that was presented to me, I was told there were no deals for any plan with "anyroom DVR service" This was told to me by an Official Comcast Employee.

Is that before the substantial contract, triple-play, and automatic pay discounts? Some of the packages may include the first box, some may not. Here are the X1 boxes.

All of them communicate with each other and the cloud backup DVR. That's just the way the system works. There is nothing but anyroom - and other places too - service. You can watch your recordings from another location from the stream web site or a phone/tablet app as well as your other TVs.

Hello, tbill1!
Thanks for reaching out to us with your concerns about your service plan and the change to our DVR system.
As was mentioned by Comcast Ted in his clarification, these changes will not affect our X1 customers. All X1 customers with DVR services also have AnyRoom. I'd love to look over the available promotions with you and find a new plan that fits your needs at the best rate available, as well as elaborate on any further concerns you may have about our services.
Please send me a private message with your first and last name as well as your service address so I can assist.
