XFINITY menu bar pops up on its own randomly
On our DVR box the Xfinity menu randomly pops up with all of the options (guide - saved - on demand - search - apps - settings) . This started about a week ago. There is an archived post about this from 2016 but no explanation /solution was offered. Its happening every day but never at the same time of day. We hit 'exit' and it goes away but comes back. We refreshed the system the first day it did it and it stopped for a day but started again. What in the world can we do to stop this. We only have the main DVR box...no others.
Thanks

I Escalated your problem "Terri B"
Don't be surprised if they ask you to exchange the old DVR for another one. You might loose some old save programs. I assume you already tried resetting all of your boxes. Not just the DVR, to see if it fixes the problem.

Don't have any neighbors. The Comcast overhead 'drop' that comes to us and then goes underground is just for us.
Have been in my house for 45 years and never had any signal problems with Comcast. Our DVR works fine as does our WIFI but this popping up of the menu is driving us a little nuts

No way we will exchange our DVR. Its always 45% or more full . We will deal with the pop up menu if we have to rather than go thru not having our saved programs. My hubby goes to bed early and so we record almost everything. We don't have any other boxes to reset...just have the one DVR box and it works perfectly. Only change we made lately is getting a new voice remote two weeks ago. Hmm?

I am so glad to hear its NOT JUST ME! I was accused of pressing the Xfinity button to mess with my husband even when I showed him that my hand was no where near it. ...lol. Then it started doing it when I wasn't even in the room so I acccused him of messing with me.

either a remote (pull battery out of each to determine problem remote) has an issue or there is someone playing with the TV remote app while that TV's name is selected. the set top box doesn't respond directly to remotes/app it goes to a server and then the server directs the box's action.

We just replaced our remote (an X11) and this problem started up immediately after setup with the new remote. Doing a System Refresh made a temporary difference, but the xfinity menu bar keeps coming back every two minutes or so, even kicking me out of the menu I am trying to use to fix the problem.

Maybe the remote has a stuck key. Does pulling the battery stop it?

When we got a replacement voice remote the 'pop up' problem also started. Replaced the batteries and set the remote up for the second time and the random pop up stopped and I used the batteries elsewhere. Strange but true
