On Demand Fees

Up until the holidays of 2019 I used to be able to watch Seal Team from CBS Free the next day if I missed the episode. I missed the season opener and when I went on tonight it’s $2.99. Why is Comcast charging now? In fact I looked through a lot of TV shows and to watch an episode it’s now $2.99. This can’t be a network requirement. Can someone from Comcast chime in and fill us in on the truth???? This is very upsetting.

It's really interesting that you mention this issue. As of lately, I've been heavily utilizing options to view programming via my PC and Mobile Devices. Some programs from networks (which is clearly part of my subscription), are popping up with options to "rent/buy" episodes.

On some occasions, I've been able to bypass the purchase option and watch the programming. I don't know if this is a glitch? But I would like to hope it's not designed to double-dip, causing customers to pay for programs in which they already have legitimate subscriptions. I realize that certain network or syndicated programs may cost depending on the agreement they have with Comcast, but I have mostly seen this limited to older popular series on the legacy networks -- Given that Seal Team is currently an active CBS broadcast program (which was renewed for a 3rd season), I can't imagine why Comcast is trying to charge for the episodes On Demand when CBS/Local Channels are clearly a part of your basic cable sunscription.

I accessed Seal Team myself and while it does offer me the option to record the series, the only way to watch previous episodes is to "buy episodes or the season". Ridiculous.

I look forward to seeing what Comcast's explanation is for this...

I just watched it on ON DEMAND yesterday afternoon. It was a 2 part episode which was "free". I have a regular RNG150N cable box (not the X1 type service). What method are you using to watch it?

Same box. And I missed part 2 of the 2 part season opener and had to pay for part 2, $2.99. Don't know how you had it for "free"

Both parts were listed as one episode.

From what I can tell, Xfinity does not respond to these posts, unfortunately.
