If you have some kind of Comcast cable service; you should be able to find the "ID channel" somewhere on your list of channels. If you would select the channel it would display that you need to sign up for the service.

If you cannot find the channel at all; it is not available in your area.

To further what @MNtundraRET posted this might help clear up some of your questions about Investigative Discovery.

Re: ID channel

Nope. Comcast isn't contracted with ID channel so........when we signed up two months ago, according to the website, in black & white, the ID channel was included in the package we chose. After the five hour install we cancelled our other service, which btw, offered me a ridiculously reduced rate to keep us. Next day I had a chance to watch my fav channel which is the ID channel. The channel showed we needed to subscribe to get that channel. I called immediately and was told that they were trying to negotiate with ID but it didn't look good, I was livid. I asked why they listed that channel as being included in our package and was just told to try some bogus channel that needs a subscription but I checked and the programs are old as in 2003 old.

Re: ID channel

You had 30 days to cancel, you knew right away it wasn’t available to you.

Re: ID channel

this link shows your channel line up. check your line up and see if it shows that they offer "ID" (Investigate Discovery) to "new customers"  and in your channel package in your area. If it shows up call them up and ask them why they are showing that they offer ID (investigation discovery) as part of their line up to new customers as if to lure in people who are looking for a provider with the channel available.....false advertising?

Re: ID channel

Xfinity does not care. I upgraded my plan with them , double and triple checked the channel line up for ID channel(considering it’s my wife’s favorite channel and the only one she watched). The day my upgrade took effect we lost ID channel and could not get it back even if we down dreaded back to our original plan. I contacted the office of Tom Karinshak, customer service VP, and all his rep could do is offer an apology and say Xfinity reserves the right to add/remove channels at their discretion. So, there we go... no ID channel.

Re: ID channel

Comcast no longer has a contract with ID, not sure why. I currently have ID but if I make a change to my contract I will lose it.

YES !

Any changes made to your current contract will cause the Comcast computer to remove any "grandfathered" channels. "ID channel" is one of those.

Read my warning post pinned to first first page shown on this forum. The "bug" still exists that caused the lost of "Grandfathered" channels. I still have ID Channel only because I have not changed service in the last decade.

No Comcast employee can currently do anything yo revert you back to keep these "grandfathered" channels.
