Fox Sports 2

As a NASCAR fan, I was afraid that I would not be able to see the same racing events that I used to see on Speed when they rebranded the channel this past weekend.  I was just proven correct.  I now won't be able to see the Whelan Modified race that is airing on FoxSports 2 from Bristol tonight as Comcast doesn't have Fox Sports 2 in the channel lineup.  I was able to watch it last year when it was on Speed.

I strongly encourage Comcast to rectify this situation and add Fox Sports 2 to the lineup.  If I can't watch the things I want to watch because the channel isn't available, then I'm going to look for a cable provider who can provide it.

They are more worried about trying to get all of Charters and Time Warner subcribers then they are worried about the subcribers they have now.So after they get everyones subcribers they will be to big for anyone to get customer service.Oh wait they don't have any customer service now. They need to have someone on these fourms from all the states that they cover, not just Ted that is someplace in the Bahamas. She don't like it when we post links to just show what really is going on.After she deletes them she say don't know what you are talking about.

Nearly 1/3 through the racing season and yet to have heard a formalized response from Comcast concerning negotiations with Fox Sports to host their FS2 channel as part of their channel lineup. What is the status and when will action be taken?

Man, I really wish I was in the Bahamas.

I usually leave a reason when a post is removed, usually due to a violation of the Forum Posting Guidelines:

Most business contact negotiations are confidential. Once Comcast and Fox have additional information to share, we certainly will.

Thanks for the feedback.

The issue here is the lack of Local Management. It is mentioned in this thread but there is notheing local about this forum, as it's being moterated by someone in Philly and I'm in Washington State.  You go into your local office and instead of someone in the know. you get phone numbers from people thousands of miles away. If there is local management they are being shielded from their customers.  I have been involved in requesting Fox Sports 2 and MAV TV.  Funny that MAV TV is in Philly.  Western Washington is a hot bed for Sprint Car racing, a staple on MAV TV.  But someone 3000 miles away won't know that.

As stated a few times in this thread...

The Comcast programming teams and local management teams constantly evaluate programming choices and make decisions based on customer interests, costs, channel bandwidth management and contractual obligations. The Comcast employees who participate in these forums certainly pass along your collective feedback, interests and concerns to those teams.

As with any business, situations may change based on customer demand, channel bandwidth opportunities, business opportunities, costs and contractual obligations.

Costs and customer feedback have a lot to do with any programming decision.

Just how much feedback do you need? You will not give us what it would cost so just how do you know people would not want it? Don't copy and paste your what you have already posted.Give us Facts!

There is certainly customer interest and passion.

That is an important factor but not the only factor as I explained above. Conversations and discussions are ongoing. Thanks for your feedback.

Interesting.  The channels that have been added to our service and I am being forced to pay for are hardly mentioned in any for these forums. Fox Sports 2 is already up to 725 messages.  Now why can't we have a response from someone in the Seattle area from Comcast?

Have you noticed an ongoing pattern here? The only party that brings up concern over costs to the consumer is ComcastTeds. Very few people over the entire thread have raised any concern that their bill may go up; yet ComcastTeds beats us over the head with that. I read the link he posted, and from what I read, it would cost every subscriber a whole wopping twenty cents a month. Speedbuggy, do you object to that? When I brought this up rather emphaticly, old 'Teds then began with the "we need band width, and infrastructure. For one channel? I called bovine excrement at that and he deleated my post with a reminder to be civil. What is not civil is that COMCAST is stonewalling it's customers. If I had a choice to switch, I wouldn't even care now, because I'd be a Direct TV customer. If I want live sports, I have to stay with COMCAST. As it is, I am cancelllng the Sports Entertainment (notice, as another poster has said, it says "SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT", no "and" in between), since it has less sports that I want to see, and it is not entertaining to watch FXX. This deficiency should have been addressed right away by COMCAST, even though they are not responsible for the demise of SPEED and FOX SOCCER CHANNEL. Their TV ads boast that they have the most sports. Ya, right. The most college football, basketball, and baseball. very little else. There are other sports out there. UNIVERSAL SPORTS had a gread variety of different sports, but they let that one get away. My bill didn't go down because of that, did it? So, SPORTS ENTERTAIMENT goes. Next will be SHOWTIME, since there is nothing to watch on that since "DEXTER" went away. Another talking point 'Teds brings up is that it has to "make sense" for both parties involved. Making sense to COMCAST is getting channels for free and charging us premium prices. What doesn't make sense is the way they are continually upsetting their customers by not reacting. They continually hold talks; well, stop talking and do something!

I thought a question on the MAV TV thread was a good one.  Comcast won't add these channels because they say there isn't enough interest.  Then why do they continually add channels no one has even requested?

My guess is because there is more profit in it for them when they add the chanels that are basically almost free to them anyway.

BINGO!!!!!!!! Seau wins the prize!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good guess!

It's ALL about "quanity NOT quality"! That way they get to beat their collective chests about how many channels they provide.

I was thinking about this the other day.

As comcast customers we are paying for FS1 & FS2 but not getting FS2, though others around the country do get FS2. I think that is discrimination and we are paying for something and not receiving it.

I think everyone who is cheated by Comcast by not delivering FS2 should band together and file a class action law suit against Comcast.

I'm going to check around and see if I can get some information from a lawyer.

I'm tired of trying to watch a UFC fight on FS1 and the program preceeding it runs late and they say "you can see the UFC Prelims starting now on FS2"

Well, I don't get FS2 so I am being cheated.

Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to clarify.

The costs of any channel are spread across all of the customers that have that channel in their level of service.

If you don't have Fox Sports 2 in your channel lineup then of course you are not paying for it at all.

If you do have Fox Sports 2 in your channel lineup then it is already included in your monthly bundled service charges.

Cable TV is a broken out dated model.  It has nothing to do with what customers want, especially in lower tier channels. Customers should have a choose 50 or choose 100 package, we pick and choose what we want.  If channels fail, then so be it.  Isn't that how our economy works?  Recent studies show that most people only use about 17 channels.  Our local system in the past months has added about a half dozen channels.  I have searched these and other forums for discussions and request for these channels.  Guess what?  Little to none.  Here we have pages and pages of posts and requests.  And excuses of why we can't have it.
