log in every time

Ever since I changed computers and used Edge as my default browser, whenever I go to  https://www.xfinity.com/    I have to log in, sometimes with verification.  I checked the cookies and they seems to be OK.

Hi there and welcome to Comcast! Thank you so much for this feedback. You are in the right place and we are happy to assist you today. Now is it asking you to log in everytime you visit our webpage?

Yes. I was trying to show the page, but if I copy it,  it results in an HTML, and  I have as .jpg, but I do not see how to insert it or attach it.

Thank you for sharing this information with us. Have you attempted to clear the cache and cookies? Are you able to try to log in under incognito mode?

I'm not sure if this is the same issue or something different. Last night I was watching live TV through the Stream portal using Vivaldi browser (also Chromium-based). The feed interrupted and sent me to the login screen. The login screen refused to accept my Comcast username, email address, or Xfinity mobile phone number event though these all appeared properly in account details. Clearing cookies and allowing ads, tracking, and third-party cookies did not resolve it. Restarting the browser allowed me to enter my username or email address and complete the login process, including verification in the Xfinity app. This morning I was again unable to get in until I cleared cookies and verified my access in the app. Is something corrupting the cookies your portal is using?

Sounds like the same problem I've been having for a couple of weeks.  The problem is not on my end.  Clearing cookies, rebooting, etc. does not work. The problem is completely on the Comcast end.  The really annoying part is that when I try to log-in, I get a message that I'm using an incorrect username.  Maybe it's time to cut the cord.

P.S. Since I can't sign in right now, I can't post this..But as soon as I get connected again I will. ...About an hour later...

I'm having the same problem.

I've been using xxxxxxxx.comcast.net to logon for 10 years.  Now it is not working.

it can find my "profile" with xxxxxxx.comcast.net in it - but, it will not log in.

I logged into this xfinity website with xxxxxxxx.comcast.net - but, it made me change my password.

WOW! - the Xfinity stream website logon is REALLY messed up.  After logging into this community website, I was able to get into Xfinity stream without logging on.

The only bizarre theory I can come up with that makes no sense at all is that Xfinity wanted to change to a password with a special character in it?

requa Did you also try a different browser or a private/incognito mode?

@XfinityPeterH I was watching a recording show on my computer just now and got bumped out. Stream would not accept my known valid username. Per your suggestion, I opened a private window in my Vivaldi browser and Stream accepted my valid username and allowed me to log in. This does not fix my inability to log in normally or to stay logged in once I am there. What is it supposed to illustrate? This is getting very frustrating.

I can completely understand your frustration, especially having this issue in the middle of watching live TV. Since opening a private window are you still having the same problem?

I did not remain in the private window. Once I verified I could log in there, I tried logging in again in my regular window successfully (then went to bed). Even if it works in a private window more consistently, using one consistently to bypass whatever is broken in the Stream portal is not a solution. I was hoping that testing it in that manner would provide a clue that could lead you to a suggested setting change or similar. Alternatively, I could avoid the Stream portal issue by walking into another room and watching on my TV, but that still does not fix Stream. I am open to recommendations.

. . . and I just got bumped out while watching recorded content again. This time, Stream would recognize my username but rejected my password. I tried again in a private window with the same password and it worked, after requiring me to confirm in the Xfinity app. Back in the regular window, I am now back to Stream not recognizing my username or email.

@sgtjdc, Thank you for that update, I appreciate it! So it sounds like it's the web browser you're using as the Stream App works when incognito. Have you tried a different browser altogether?

Thanks for responding so quickly. Please see multiple other posts here with people reporting the same or similar issues with a wide array of browsers. For example, this one clearly mentioned seeing this in Chrome and Firefox: https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/xfinity-stream-website/keep-getting-logged-out-of-xfinity-stream/682a9149acfd67012c8ce105.  It is possible that a browser update could create a conflict, but it is highly unlikely that both Firefox and Chrome (along with multiple Chromium derivatives) would suffer this same issue simultaneously. Did Comcast recently make back-end changes to the Stream security protocols?

@sgtjdc, Have you personally used the other browsers to check? When was the last time you were able to log in to the Xfinity Stream App using Vivaldi, and authentication worked?

I have not personally tried using the other browsers. Stream worked just fine in Vivaldi until the last week or so. I was successfully logged in using Vivaldi (regular window) until 30 minutes ago, and am still logged in using Vivaldi (private window) now, just watching my recorded baseball game and waiting a bit longer to see if it eventually bumps me out from private. Meanwhile, I again tried logging in under my regular Vivaldi window and was able to get in, but am not attempting to run a separate video stream.
