Xfinity Stream: Language changes while casting to tv

Xfinity Stream: Language changes upon casting and in the app

I selected the movie Dune and hit play in the app and it played in English. I cast it to my television and it switched to Spanish. Wth! I look back on my iPhone and it switched from Dune to Duna…

My iPhone and TV settings are all English. What gives?

I tried another movie, the same thing.


I’m supremely disappointed. I will never buy/subscribe

We are having the exact same issue.  Though for us, Dune seems to be the only movie doing this.  Wondering if Comcast messed up something in how they set up this movie

@mpgurin​ same thing here Dune is the only thing messed up. And pretty much the only movie worth watching in the whole list

It’s on other movies THAT I WANTED TO WATCH.  I put a movie on pause and when I un paused it —- it was in Spanish.  Comcast living up to it’s reputation.

I would love for Xfinity to add their two cents or fix the problem so I can watch Dune. That would be quality customer service, just saying.

Thank you everyone for your submission about your Xfinity Streaming services. I know I would be reaching out if I was in your shoes too! I just tried on my iPhone and had no issues, that being said we want to confirm some information. 

Have you made sure your equipment is on the latest software, have you tried to restart your equipment, have you tried to force stop and reload the Xfinity Streaming App?

Tried forced stop reinstalled Dune still in different language when casting to tv. Other movies are ok.

Hello, @yar33,  we appreciate your insight and additional information. I was wondering if this issue is happening using only Xfinity resources. Does the issue happen while using the Xfinity My Account app, before casting? It will also be helpful to know if the issue happens while viewing Dune on a cable box or at https://comca.st/361wrKp.

Same. Casting to Chromecast w/Google TV from an iPhone 13 Pro. Trying other Watch options for Dune doesn’t do anything, it only plays in Spanish.

I had a similar situation not to long ago and my "know-it-all" teenager said she found a setting on the Chromecast itself and fixed it. She found a "how to fix language" on Youtube.

I’ve deleted and reinstalled the xfinity stream app, logged out and back in on Google and xfinity accounts.. power cycled everything multiple times.  Even tried on multiple TVs and still the same result.. I can stream dune on my iPhone in English perfectly fine, but as soon as I chromecast  it to any TV it converts to Spanish…. I try any other movie everything works fine

I gave the same problem. Besides dune, it also does this with Suicide Squad. I tried on both an older generation chromecast and a newer generation. Tried all the resetting options. Tried from an Android and ipad.  Still casts in Spanish. The only thing in common is it is from the current 'free' screening of movies from xfinity. NOT A GREAT WAY TO ADVERTISE XFINITY CAPABILITY.

I would like to get your account pulled up so we can see what may be causing this strange issue. Please send me a direct message with your first and last name, along with your complete service address to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the chat icon located at the top right of this forums page.   

Here are detailed steps to direct message us:  

  • Click "Sign In" if necessary 
  • Click the direct message icon
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon 
  • Type "Xfinity Support" in the to line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list 
  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window 
  • Press Enter to send your message

It also happens with the Many Saints of Newark.  Works fine on my phone, casts in Spanish to the TV.

Hello, we definitely want to ensure you're able to view your shows in the correct audio for you. Looking over the settings, this is coming back as a Chromecast/Google Account settings issue, and it's recommended to reach out to Google support for further assistance in ensuring the language settings on all accounts/the device is set to the correct primary language. This may include settings for Google Home and other devices/apps installed on your phone. 

Google home app, select Chromecast, settings, device information, language ensure English is selected.

If it’s google chrome cast then why do other movies and live stream stream in English I only get this with xfinity and matrix resurrections
