Xfinity App is dramatically draining my iPhone battery

It's so bad it drains the battery more in the background with the screen off than almost any other app while the screen is on.  I wake up to my phone dead and/or extremely hot and almost dead.  iPhone 13 Pro iOS 16.4.1(a).  Xfinity App version 4.33.0.1683043633.

Same issue here.  iPhone 13 Pro battery only lasts a half a day and the Xfinity app is using 60% of the battery.  Please get this resolved ASAP

Jumping on this post to say I’m having the same issue on an iPhone 12 Pro Max. Barely used my phone today and it was dead before I could plug it in for bed which is uncommon. Plugged it in to see battery usage where xfinity app is taking up 90% of my battery usage in the 12 hours my phone was off the charger. Xfinity has been spotty at best with their internet the last few months, now they’re draining my phone? Give me a break!!

Same issue-app is draining battery even when closed, this is unacceptable. Only fix for now is to delete app!

Just woke up to the same issue....iPhone was so hot I was struggling to hold it. I went into the app settings and disabled background app refresh which I'm hoping will stop it from doing whatever it is in the background.

I’ve had the Xfinity app for a while with no problems. Then just this week, it started draining 50-70% of my battery—in the background! I had to delete it. That’s nonsense!

exact same with me - hasn’t been a problem for me until this week.  iPhone 12 with IOS 16.5.1

Hello @user_724c36, draining phone battery is no phone, so I can see why this is so important to get to the bottom of. Especially nowadays with how much we're all reliant on, and constantly use our devices. Are you only having this issue with the one particular iPhone 12, or multiple devices?

Xfinity when are you going to fix this problem ???  It's clearly not a one-off.  I had to delete the app but then needed it for 2FA and I had to re-install it and it went right back to egregiously draining my battery :(

Went to bed with 80 percent left, woke up to see phone at 20 percent. iPhone said that Xfinity app used the battery 96% overnight. I turned off background refresh hoping that would fix it, nope. The only app I have that does this nonsense!

Oh wow!  As someone who is always on my phone, I understand how a draining battery can be the pits.  What model phone do you have @user_a4167c?

Same here. Drains battery in half a day. I have notifications turned off. Can’t see how to stop the  app from running in the background. I don’t see any resolution in this thread. My daughter has the same app and her battery is not draining. So what’s the fix?

Same here, my phone has been hot for 3 days and looses power in 6 hours. App is 99% of battery usage. Please find a fix!

We’re aware that some customers with iPhones may be experiencing an issue where the Xfinity App is using more power than it should. There was a bug in app version Xfinity 5.4.0 iOS that caused this issue. On August 1, we released a fix in Xfinity 5.4.1 iOS.

To resolve this issue, please ensure you’re running the latest version of the Xfinity app – currently Xfinity 5.5.0 iOS.

You can find the app version, and update it if needed, by going to Settings > Xfinity App and looking for “App Version.” You can also update the app by texting “APP” to 266278. If you continue to experience this issue after performing the required update, please let us know here.

App is trash. I have an iPhone 12 pro band had to charge my phone twice to 100% in one day. The app is exceeding usage of over 50% and making the phone warm. What good is this “feature” if it is detrimental to the phone.
