Xfinity 4k - XG1v4 Cable Box Availability
Called Xfinity and asked about the availability of XG1v4 cable boxes at my location (WA state), which has the capability to stream 4k content through Netflix. Was assured, with repeated confirmations, that they were available to the local service store, would just have to bring in my existing cable box and exchange it. Bought a nice LG OLED TV, upgraded my Netflix account to receive Ultra HD, and took my box down to the local service center for exchange, per customer service direction. You can probably guess what happened next - "sorry, we don't have any 4k boxes, don't know when we will". Anyone else been misled by the Xfinity garbage customer service? Went online to see what lies they convey on their website regarding this matter, and found this: https://www.xfinity.com/support/cable-tv/uhd-4k-faqs/ More misleading BS. Wanted to warn anyone else potentially in the same situation as myself not to believe anything you are told or read about the availability of XG1v4 boxes; go to your service center first to confirm.

There are 11 pages of posts here. I take it that you read none of them.

I was hoping maybe some people would share they are having success getting the XG1v4 in some areas as existing customers. Same thing I am hoping to hear about the XB6 soon.

I did the online chat in mid November and asked them to send me a XG1v4. The box arrived 2 days later and I installed it. 20+ year customer and didn't require professional install.

i just had one of these new boxes installed. Where and how do you use the Bluetooth features? I don't see any options for this.

If you don't see a way to enable bluetooth it probably has not yet been added to the XG1v4 yet. It is supposed to be added via a firmware update.

I rebooted the box and the option appeared in Comcast Labs.
I don't see a ton of use of this feature. I thought I could pair my phone to the box and stream music from my phone through the entertainment system.

I received the XG1v4 today, it was easy to set up. I have the HDMI output going through my 4K Sony receiver to my 4K Sony TV without any problems. The sound level from the XG1v4 seems be be the same as my XG1v1. Hopefully Comcast will update their YouTube app to 4K soon because it is currently only 1080p.

I picked up a nice pair of Audio Technica bluetooth headphones and have watched Tv with them early in the morning when I dont want to wake anyone or when I'm watching something with colorful language. Now I usually connect them to my LG Oled TV as that way I can stream whatever I'm watching not just stuff on the box.
