X1 DVR: Recording Space Percentage

I have a simple question. I just received a new X1 DVR box (since my 4 yr old box was pixelating video on several channels). I was unable to save all my recordings from old to new box. But I've accepted that & my question is simply: in the Recordings menu, how do I get the percentage of space available to be displayed? It only says the # of recordings,  which doesn't help at all when trying to mange space.  My old DVR had that %. I've been thru every Setting option & even watched several xfinity YouTube videos for DVRs. But no luck. Anyone know how to get the % of space available to be displayed? Thanks for any help you can offer!

the cloud DVR recordings are still viewable on your new box (not stored there). when you press OK while playing the recording, on bottom left will be a white cloud icon in front of "DVR". the cloud and home DVR (if you have one) are different sizes. If you use the smart device app Xfinity TV Remote app, go to recordings and it displays what is on your home DVR(s) with the percentage. the one shown on the TV's recording menu should match.

Thanks for the reply! All my recordings on my new box have that cloud icon in front of DVR -even ones I recorded on the new box. I don't use a infinity tv remote app. If I access my Xfinity Stream app on my ipad or iPhone, it shows all the same recordings on my new box BUT still no percentage of space available. All I want is to know how much space I have left on my new box to record.  It says I have 50 recordings, but is that almost full like 90% or is it nearly empty like 20% or something else? My old box had that percentage, how do I get that on my new box? Anyone know?

There is no model # listed in the settings but there is a device ID:2466019229120639841

Release version: 123.1.4

Release time stamp:12/15/20

does that help?

I get the feeling this is a pretty new model since the X1 help videos show the remote like the one my old DVR had but not like the one that came with this DVR

Hello Hall3, I wanted to reach out to see if you were still having issues with your recording space % meter. Did the steps that "RsutyBen" provide help? If not feel free to reach back out to me here or via private message.

Hi, Rustyben has been tryign to help but no, I still dont know how to get the percentage-full indicator on my DVR.  Plus Ive discovered that the old DVR box (called living room) has different recordings that my new DVR box (Called Samsung TV box).  Is one of those considered the Cloud DVR? I named the Samsung one myself when intializing the new box. But this issue is of less concern as long as I know which name is the cloud DVR so I dont fill that first with recordings. I want to use the box first and the DVR cloud second as a back up. Does that make sense?

Also still need to get the percentage indicator on my DVR so I know how much space is left to record.  "65 recordings" doesnt tell me anything about how much space is left on the DVR box.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

Hi @Hall3, thank you for clarifying. There are a few things I would like to look into and clarify after reading the details you provided. The X1 Cloud DVR functions like a regular DVR but includes features like the ability to stream recordings to mobile devices and computers with the Xfinity Stream app or from the Xfinity Stream portal (https://comca.st/3q0aNuo). With the Cloud DVR, your recordings can be downloaded to mobile devices for "offline" or on the go viewing. Unfortunately, you won't have the ability to choose which storage fills up first. Here, you can learn how to manage your scheduled recordings

I want to research the percentage indicator issue with your DVR, and see if I can recover the recordings from the old DVR. Can you please send a private message with your full name and service address as it appears on your billing statement? To send a message, click on my name, "ComcastChe," then click send a message.

Hello! I understand you needed @Hall3 to reply to you in private, but will you also please list the general steps here to see the percentage full, if it’s not displaying? If it’s too complicated to explain here, don’t bother … I don’t have the problem; I’m just curious how it works.

Hi, @LuxyBear. Percentage full should be automatically built-in and show for our DVR boxes. If the model is old it may not be compatible or if the DVR box has software issues the best step is to refresh the TV service and modem through the My Account app. In most cases, we have to take a look at the account to resolve it.
