Unscheduled DVR Schedules

A few days ago, my DVR started recording programs on its own.  Looking at “Scheduled”, there are about half a dozen new shows scheduled to record. What a pain to delete the unscheduled Scheduled shows, and/or the actual recordings. Anyone else?

This is certainly a unique situation @user_c6ec55. I can’t imagine the headache this has caused you. I am not exactly certain what might have happened to start several new shows to start recording. I understand you mentioned they are showing up in the scheduled recordings on the cable box, is it possible someone could have set up the recording from the Stream App or a different box? This exact same thing has just started happening to us also.  What gives?  How can we resolve this without having to keep deleting these items?

@user_695596 Our problem seems to now be resolved, but only after replacing our settop box with an upgraded box from XFinity.

I have the same issue - twice in the past 10 days, I've noticed my box has the red light on, indicating it was recording. When I review Scheduled Recordings, I see a dozen or more instances of shows scheduled to record. No one else in my household scheduled these recordings.

@user_4ca30a. Thanks for letting us know! The best course of action is to do a little troubleshooting and put in a ticket. The more tickets we get for everybody the more attention the issue will get. Let me know if you have time to do that. Thanks!

Just had my DVR installed today and it is scheduled to record a ton of shows that I didn't schedule. It looks like the DVR is automatically recording "suggestions" based on the series' I have favorited/scheduled to record. How do I turn that feature off? When I try to delete them from the schedule it says they are deleted but they are still showing up. Annoying!

My new box and new to X1 account also had scheduled shows I did not schedule. over 31 of them. Must delete from Priority list 1 by 1 as I don't see a way when signed on a PC to xfinity.com.

I think that they do not really wipe the data used boxes before handing them out again. Just quick cleaning wipe on the case and shrink wrap.

Not at all a unique problem! Anyone with neighbors with a satellite DVR box report the same kinds of problems??

The same has been going on here and it even ended up deleting some of the programs I had saved. It was annoying because this happened with the new box we just got.

I had to cancel a series recording of "Station 19" that I did NOT schedule - I don't watch the show. Why was it scheduled?

Hello, @dianjohn3. Thank you for leaving your comment here. Is your DVR scheduling multiple shows on its own, or did this only happen once with the Station 19 series?

I'm now having the same issue. Survivor and MasterChef and other shows has been suddenly scheduled for recording. No one in my household scheduled these recordings and I don't watch any of these programs. And every time one of these unscheduled programs are mysteriously "scheduled" for recording, I lose a movie on my cloud DVR. I've already been through 3 DVR boxes, including the new DVR cloud box that was suppose to fix all my issues, 3 service repairmen who were clueless as to how to fix the issues. And lets not go into calling multiple times because I still can't gain access to the Paramount Plus App even after changing out 3 boxes.
