tv box shuts off randomly

TV box has been shutting off randomly the last three days (Power saver is not on btw).  The tv could be on for several hours and it will shut off or on for only five minutes and shut off.  I am unable to turn the box back on until we hear a click as if the remote was used to shut if off (it wasn't).  Did a refresh, troubleshooting online and finally today, went in to just get a new box.  Set up new box and within 5 minutes tv box randomly shut off.  It has now shut off three times within the last 95 minutes.  What else can I do?

I have the same problem.  The tv randomly shuts off. I’ve gone through all of the troubleshooting and resets and nothing works. I’ve not replaced the box yet.  I hope you get an answer soon.

Hey there @user_ze6y2a thanks for reaching out through Xfinity Forums regarding the issue with your box. We would be happy to help you with troubleshooting. Are you able to confirm you have checked all the wiring? Is the box connected directly to the wall outlet or do you have the box connected to a power strip?

Hello, @faderburg. Thanks for posting on our community forums. I'm sorry to hear about your TV box shutting off randomly. We'd be happy to troubleshoot this with you. Are you currently connected to a power outlet or power strip?

Our main TV box in the living room seems to freeze, go black and shut down at least once a week anymore and always seems to happen during something we've been waiting to see. It's starting to get really annoying especially when you realize how high our bill is.

This is not the feeling we want! The Xfinity app works great to troubleshoot your TV services, @user_cdtrsu. You can review cost-saving options in My Account, and, our Digital Care team is here to help too. Have you tried double-checking the cable connections on the wall plate and the back of the TV?

Hey @user_zjbejz,

Thank you for visiting our official Xfinity Community Forums support page. We would be more than happy to provide assistance regarding the set-top box and television.

Would you be able to visit our 'Manage Power Preferences on X1 and Flex' support and view the HDMI Device Control (HDMI-CEC) section to turn off HDMI-CEC to see if that helps resolve the issue or if only the TV or only the set-top box turn off?
