new cable box

Just got the latest X1 cable box, which works fine but there doesn't seem to be a time or channel display on the box. Is that correct?

Hi, MJF11800, thanks for your question. That's correct. The newest model (s) X1 cable boxes don't have time or channels displayed on the front. I know this is different but all in all these new models work quieter and more efficiently. Have a good one and please let us know if you have any other questions.

The new x1 box also doesn't have and status indicator lights.  I find the lack of indicators ( such as red for recording, green for a remote key press) to be inconvienent.  The indicators, along with the clock, should be returned or at least optional features on the next update.

I replaced  an XG1v4 with the older, XG1v3, due to this issue.

Totally agree. Meanwhile I bought a nice digital clock.

I had the same problem. I miss the the digital clock and the red light when recording a show. My wife ordered a small digital clock to sit on top of the box. Hope they have it on their next upgrade.

My new box no longer rewinds, I used to be able to rewind up to an hour of whatever I was watching. If I viewed an hour of that program. Is this normal.

Hey there, @wauchu2, thanks for reaching out through Xfinity Forums! I really appreciate your time in reaching out! I definitely want to get to the bottom of the issue you are having with your rewind function to ensure your box is working properly and you have the services you enjoy. Are you having issues rewinding on a recorded program or when watching live TV?

Same here, why do away with the clock & recording light?! I didn’t like how bright the default clock backlight was, but the lowest setting was perfect. I need to be able to see what time it is. I feel like all cable boxes ever have always had this function, why make it less user friendly?!

Just buy a 10 dollar digital clock and place it near the box. I did and  don't notice the difference.

Yes doing away with the clock was a ridiculous move.  Granted most folks have their phones in their laps these days but having the clock and the channel display was nice.  They need to bring it back.  Terrible move on xfinity's part.  Digital clock it is...

The boxes are much smaller. Not sure how you could fit a clock on them.

That's not the main Cable box for receiving  the Cable tv service ..... That one does have a clock on it and without that box the one here that you are talking about will not work .. Correct ?
