New box and lost DVR recordings

New box installed today due to other one breaking for no reason. About half my DVR show recordings are gone. Any way to get them back??

when you swap out a DVR the recordings on it are gone but the last 60 or so hours recorded (sometimes more in some areas) are available on the cloud DVR playable on your home X1 equipment. note as new recordings are added the cloud hours that are older will automatically delete. advice is to watch oldest shows first. you can see the list of shows only on the cloud by using a smart device (phone/tablet) and the xfinity stream TV app.

Using either the set-top box (XG1v4), the xfinity stream app, or the tv.xfinity.com web portal: is there any to determine which recordings are in the "last 60 or so hours" other than sorting by "Most Recent" and then reviewing each and every recording and manually adding up the hours? What if you have multiple recordings from the same show that are grouped under the show's title (with a parenthesis indicating number of recordings) -- is there any way to know which of those to include in the manual compilation of hours?

Can it truly be the case that xfinity doesn't have the ability to make this simpler or more straightforward for its customers?

If you look at the stream app, that’s what’s on the cloud. It’s going to be 60 hours or less, some markets are moving to 150

So there is no way to tell directly what is on the cloud vs. what is on a local DVR?

Why does Xfinity make this so hard?

My Box keeps telling me I need to order a new one to get all the new features.  Fine, but I have all these recordings on it, and it's really a pain to see what is on the cloud vs. what is on the local DVR.

In today's computing world there is no reason.  We should be able to EASILY see local recordings vs. what is on the cloud.  We should also be able to tell a DVR whether we want it going locally or the cloud.  These are all things that CAN be done.

There has to be a better way.

It's absolutely unacceptable that we can't sync our DVR boxes up to the cloud when getting a new box.  Losing content in the 21st century?  What are we paying for all the HD technology fees, DVR fees, etc.

I tried to watch Paramount+ and received a msg that i needed to get new dvr in order to use it, I received a new dvr.  So now I’m going to lose my recordings? Why wouldn’t xfinity just update existing system?  SMH

No, if your recordings are on the cloud they will be there.

I went through four boxes in June and the recordings were still there.

Go into the stream app or from  your computer and see if you can see all your recordings there - if so they are on the cloud.
