Low Volume
Since the last post was closed I figured I would start a new one. I noticed lately that my X1 is significantly quieter that any of my other sources. My X1 box goes through my Denon receiver. To listen to my Xfinity X1 box the volume needs to be at 52 or greater. For my Xbox or TV apps, I listen to them around 25. I don't recall the difference in the volume being so great, but in the last couple weeks I noticed I kept having to turn it up. Why is my X1 box all of a sudden way quieter?

Just to add an update. It turned out to be some setting in my Denon receiver. Not sure if it got an update that changed the settings or what. I figured it out after trying a new HDMI cable and different inputs on the receiver.

Hello @abtopp. I am sorry to hear that it is such a different. I know my Xbox is also louder on my TV than anything else I use. You can try these steps to see if it helps since you are using a receiver.

I will give it a try. But something seems odd. I have the X1 box running out it's HDMI cable for sound. The X1 box should be a fixed volume, it should not have a variable level.

I don't have any of those menus. I have setting, device setting, then audio. Non of the 3 options there don't make a difference and are all quiet. If I use my Xfinity streaming app on my Roku TV, the volume is louder. Like my Blu Ray and Xbox.
I am wondering if I need a new X1 or newer cable box. I also notice it being very sluggish changing channels, bringing up menus, etc...

I have a similar situation, we moved some things over the weekend and had to disconnect the coax from the X1 box. Once everything was moved, we connected the X1, powered it on and the box and the Xfinity system decided we had a new device so we had to go through setup again, even had to unpair the remote and pair it again. After the X1 box went through the setup the volume is low, about half what it was before we disconnected the coax from the set top box. For example, a volume of 18 was great before and now we have to have 26 or higher in order to hear things. What the heck changed?

I’m having the same issue.
I tried different inputs on the tv, and a new HDMI cable. The volume is still too low. I don’t have the menu options posted either.

It’s a new box I got about 2 weeks ago.
