Live tv delay

My tv boxes are having issues with live tv delays. I watch alot of sports and the tv boxes are 30-45 seconds behind the live tv transmission. The xfinity app I stream on my tablet is ahead of the tv boxes. This issue just stated within the last 6 months. I had a technician come out to the house in the hope he could fix it but he told me there wasn't anything he could do.  I need help Xfinity.

Hello @user_rtchurb! Thank you for making a public post. I know how important it is to address the delay you're experiencing with the TV boxes. I can imagine this is frustrating.  Is this affecting all boxes in the home? Have you tried resetting the boxes? Does this happen with all channels or only a couple in particular? Do you also experience this when logging into the website or is it just isolated to the app?

@XfinityMikeB

It affects all the boxes in the house. I have reset the boxes many times and even received a new one from the store. It happens on all channels. It even affects my DVR recordings and I miss the tail end of many recordings.

Hello, @user_fd2cbc! Thank you for connecting with us here! We are  sorry for the continued trouble with your cable service. Are you experiencing the same issue with a 30 - 45 second delay while watching at home on your cable boxes? Do you have the same issues while streaming from home? We look forward to your response.

I'm having the same issue too. I noticed it last week for the first time -- because the ESPN and Yahoo Sports stat updates were updating even before the play aired on our live cable TV (through our X1 box).

It's not a terrible deal -- but it is strange that ESPN and Yahoo apps and websites show the results of the next play during every game. I am watching the NCAA College Football National Championship tonight and still experiencing this problem.

Xfinity the live TV delay is still an ongoing issue.  What can be done to remedy this issue that I have had for over 6 months?

 This  happens on channels beside sports.  CNBC quote updates are always behind the quotes on my computer. My computer clock always changes before the time changes on CNN or MSNBC.

Hi tbill1, do you have more than 1 cable box in your home? If so do you see the same issue on all of them?

Thank you for letting me know. This sounds a lot like "Broadcast Delay". This happens to prevent mistakes or unacceptable content from being broadcast. While I do find it strange it happens on news outlets, it is not uncommon. I am an avid sports fan, and always find the scoring seconds before the TV shows them. While this is not convenient, it is not uncommon to have delays between online, radio, and TV.

I have 3 boxes in my house and the delay is on all of them. It even affects my DVR recordings. I had a technician come out not long ago and he said he couldn't do anything.  There wasn't an issue 6 months ago so something has happened on your end Xfinity.
